Bill Murray has weighed in on rumors that he will be appearing in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

While promoting his upcoming movie The French Dispatch on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Murray "answered" some of Kimmel's questions about his involvement in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. After Kimmel detailed Murray's prior comments on joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the host asked plainly "Are you in the Ant-Man movie?" Murray dodged the subject by mentioning all the people that ARE confirmed for the movie, but that he isn't at liberty to talk about himself.

Rumors about the comedian's involvement with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania first began floating around in early October, when a report suggested that Murray's photo double had been cast for the production. This was seemingly confirmed later when Murray was speaking to a German news organization. On Kimmel, Murray poked fun at his past press experiences by only answering Jimmy's questions after speaking through a pair of his own translators. The convoluted conversation left Jimmy laughing throughout its entirely. When he finally answered Kimmel's question about a possible MCU appearance, Murray said "I am not at liberty to talk about it," before turning to his translators and saying "But we can talk about it when we eat dinner."

Filming is currently underway for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. The movie brings back Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly in the titular roles of Ant-Man and the Wasp, alongside other returning favorites such as Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeifer. Unlike past films,  Abby Ryder Forston will not be returning to her role as Ant-Man's young daughter, Cassie Lang. Instead, actress Kathryn Newton will be stepping into the character's shoes, which have grown substantially since she was aged up in Avengers: Endgame. Many fans have noted that Newton's recent physical transformation may hint at Stature - Cassie's comic superhero alter-ego - appearing in the MCU for the first time.

Another new addition to the cast of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is Jonathan Majors, who will be playing Kang the Conqueror. Majors originally appeared in the Disney+ series Loki playing a variant of Kang that created the TVA, "He Who Remains." However, that version of Kang suffered an untimely end, raising questions about what Majors' appearance in Quantumania will entail. Rudd said that he was blown away by Majors' work, signaling that Kang may be one of the best-featured villains in the franchise to date.

Though Murray is remaining coy about his involvement in the MCU, fans of his work can find him opposite Paul Rudd in another capacity. Both Rudd and Murray are among the cast of the upcoming film Ghostbusters: Afterlife, set to come out on Nov. 19. Murray is also one of the stars of Wes Anderson's new film The French Dispatch, now playing in select theaters.
