From rapping to acting, Kid Cudi, real name Scott Mescudi, has joined the cast of Bill & Ted Face the Music. Mescudi will join franchise stars Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter in the third installment of the cult Bill & Ted film series.This isn't Mescudi's first venture into acting. The rapper behind Indicud previously made a guest appearance as himself on One Tree Hill, as well as starred in the HBO series How to Make It in America. The only bit of information comes from the press release, which states he “has a significant role.”"Really excited about Bill and Ted," the rapper tweeted. "Man this is gonna be unreal. These movies were my childhood. Crazy dude."

What we do know is that the long-awaited sequel revolves around a new adventure from the titular time-traveling duo. Now middle-aged rockers, Bill (Winter) and Ted (Reeves) realize they have yet to fulfill their true destiny as musical legends. Before their song can bring harmony to the rest of the world, however, they need help from their children, Death (William Sadler reprising his role) and a new batch of historical figures.

Bill & Ted Face the Music will also serve as an introduction to Bill and Ted's daughters, who are named after their father's best friend. Brigette Lundy-Paine has been cast as Billie Logan, the daughter of Ted Logan. Samara Weaving will play Thea Preston, Bill's daughter.

Directed by Dean Parisot and written by Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon, Bill & Ted Face The Music stars Keanu Reeves, Alex Winter, Kid Cudi, Brigette Lundy-Paine and Samara Weaving. The film arrives in theaters on Aug. 21, 2020.
