Big Hero 6: The Series Kicks Off With Weekend Event

Disney has announced that Big Hero 6 The Series will debut with a premiere weekend event this summer.

The animated television series will debut with back-to-back episodes on Saturday, June 9 and Sunday, June 10 from 9:00-10:00 a.m. EDT/PDT. These episodes will be on Disney Channel, DisneyNOW and Disney Channel VOD platforms. Following the debut, episodes will be broadcasted every Saturday through September.

The series will be picking up on the events of the 2014 Big Hero 6 film and the Baymax Returns television special. A series of shorts featuring Baymax will also debut across Disney Channel, DisneyNOW and Disney Channel YouTube beginning on May 1 in anticipation for the weekend event.

Created by Mark McCorkle and Bob Schooley, Big Hero 6 The Series stars Maya Rudolph as Aunt Cass, Ryan Potter as Hiro, Scott Adsit as Baymax, Jamie Chung as Go Go, Alan Tudyk as Alistair Krei, Khary Payton as Wasabi, Genesis Rodriguez as Honey Lemon, Brooks Wheelan as Fred, David Shaughnessy as Heathcliff, and Stan Lee as Fred's dad.

The series will also boast a star-studded group of guest stars, including Kim Possible's Christy Carlson Romano, celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, Daniel Henney, James Cromwell, Susan Sullivan, John Michael Higgins, Diedrich Bader, Sean Giambrone, Naoko Mori, Lucas Neff, and Mara Wilson.
