Since the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, some Big Bang Theory fans have been wondering how Sheldon Cooper would have survived the pandemic. Now, actor Jim Parsons has now provided the answer.

On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Parsons revealed he and his husband Todd Spiewak had COVID-19 in March. He then explained the details of his experience with the disease and also gave fans a glimpse into how Sheldon would have thrived in a similar situation.

"We had it. Todd and I both had it early on. It was, like, middle of March," Parsons said. "We didn't know what it was. We thought we had colds, and then it seemed less likely, and then, finally, we lost our sense of smell and taste. It defied the descriptions for me. I didn't realize how, completely, taste and smell could be gone. And when you're in quarantine, and there is really nothing to do but eat – oh my God that was brutal."

While in quarantine, Parsons admitted he still ate everything even though he lost his sense of taste, calling the experience "the definition of wasted calories." To stay busy during his self-isolation, the actor took up other creative outlets such as painting and creative writing. Parsons even went through a blonde phase and bleached his hair.

Parsons then answered every fan's burning question and talked about how his Big Bang Theory alter ego Sheldon Cooper would have handled the pandemic. "He was built for this. I mean, this is the moment he was waiting for," he said. "I was saying earlier, we had an entire episode, which I didn't think about until recently, where he did, like, a Shell-bot where he had a video screen on a remote control wheelie thing. That was when people still needed to get together in groups. So, he would just send that out and sit in his room."

"Don't touch me, don't sneeze on me. So, I guess he'd be fine," he added.

The Big Bang Theory ended in May 2019 after 12 seasons. Parsons will next star in an upcoming Netflix movie adaptation of the drama The Boys in the Band with Zachery Quinto and Matt Bomer.
