After 12 years, CBS' hit sitcom The Big Bang Theory will sign off for good with a special one-hour episode on May 16.

As fans prepare to find out how Sheldon, Penny and Leonard's stories will end, the network has revealed a special retrospective episode will air following the series finale.

The 30-minute retrospective, titled Unraveling the Mystery: A Big Bang Farewell, will be hosted by series stars Kaley Cuoco and Johnny Galecki and will feature a tour of the series' sets, as well as special interviews.

The farewell special is set to air at 9:30 p.m., following the Season 2 finale of Young Sheldon.

According to CBS, Unraveling the Mystery: A Big Bang Farewell will "lead fans on a trip down memory lane, sharing some of the best-kept backstage secrets and personal memories from the past 12 years. They will reveal their favorite moments playing beloved characters Leonard and Penny, and revisit some of the most memorable stories from “The Big Bang Theory Stage."

The Big Bang Theory airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS and will conclude with an hour-long series finale on May 16. The series stars Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, Mayim Bialik, Kunal Nayyar, Simon Helberg and Melissa Rauch.
