The aliens in Beyond Skyline better watch out, because the movie's stars pack quite a punch.

Variety reports that Frank Grillo (Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Kingdom) will play a detective trying to rescue his son from alien invaders in the follow-up to the 2010 sci-fi thriller Skyline. The trade paper stresses the film is being developed as a standalone rather than a sequel.

Grillo will be joined by Iko Uwais (The Raid), who will play a human resistance leader. Fellow Raid alum Yayan Ruhian is also on board. The two will appear on screen and also choreograph the film's many fight scenes.

Liam O’Donnell, who co-wrote the 2010 film Skyline with Joshua Cordes, penned this new installment and will direct. Shooting will start in December in Indonesia.
