After teasing a mysterious crossover on social media, Dynamite Entertainment has officially announced their very first collaboration with Archie Comics: Red Sonja and Vampirella Meet Betty and Veronica. This new series hails from writer Amy Chu (Red Sonja, KISS: The End) and artist Maria Laura Sanapo (DC Comics Bombshells, Charmed).

As the title implies, Red Sonja and Vampirella Meet Betty and Veronica will revolve around Dynamite's flagship characters rubbing shoulders with Archie Comics' leading ladies. Specifically, the quartet will be forced to solve a string of unsolved paranormal murders going on in Riverdale.

"Archie was one of the few comics my mom would buy for us now and then," Chu shared. "Whereas I've done quite a bit of Red Sonja to date, this is my first Archie book, and also Vampirella. Of course there's the challenge of pulling it off, not every kind of story is suited for this kind of team up."

"We've wanted to play in the sandbox with the Dynamite gang for some time, and I'm really happy the stars aligned on this one," Archie Comics Co-President Alex Segura added. "Amy Chu's story is a fun, energized romp that brings together our iconic duo of Betty and Veronica with Vampi and Red Sonja. Four badass ladies join forces for a crossover you won't forget. What more could you want?"

First created for Warren Publishing in 1969, Vampirella has been one of Dynamite's central figures since the publisher acquired the rights to the character in 2010. Similarly, Red Sonja was first introduced by Marvel Comics in 1973 before moving to Dynamite in 2005, becoming one of their biggest characters along the way.

Meanwhile, Betty Cooper and Veronica Lodge have been central figures in the world of Archie Comics since the very beginning, with Betty being introduced to the Riverdale gang in late 1941 and Veronica in early 1942.

"Like so many comic book fans, Archie was a constant favorite as a youngster," Dynamite Entertainment founder and CEO Nick Barrucci said. "I've been so impressed with how they've taken the publishing to a new level in recent years with diverse stories like the Archie Horror line and the New Riverdale relaunch. And like so many others, I'm glued to my TV watching Riverdale. I just knew we had to do this crossover for the fans!"
