Bob Odenkirk, who starred as Jimmy McGill / Saul Goodman in Better Call Saul, has shared an emotional message of gratitude following the Breaking Bad prequel's series finale.AMC aired the final episode of Better Call Saul, titled "Saul Gone," this week, not only putting an end to the story of Odenkirk's titular lead but also, possibly, to the Breaking Bad franchise as a whole. The star posted a video message on his personal Twitter the morning after the finale, looking back at his time with his beloved character. "Everybody's been asking me how I feel about saying goodbye to Saul Goodman and Better Call Saul, and I'm not good [at] answering the question because it's frankly hard for me to look at that experience and even at that character too closely," he said. "It's just too many moving parts and they fit together too beautifully. And it's a mystery to me how it even happened."RELATED: Breaking Bad Universe Stars Unveil Albuquerque's Life-Size Walt & Jesse Statues

The Emmy Award-nominated actor went on to thank those involved with Better Call Saul's creation, including co-creators Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould, the latter of whom wrote and directed "Saul Gone." Odenkirk also made sure to thank his fellow cast members as well as the local residents of Albuquerque, New Mexico who all assisted in putting the show together.

The emotional statement comes just over a year following the nearly Odenkirk's near-fatal heart attack experienced on the set of Better Call Saul in July 2021. Back in February 2022, the star said his co-stars Rhea Seehorn and Patrick Fabian were with him at the time of the incident and were able to alert the on-set paramedics. Given that the two actors helped save Odenkirk's life, it's no surprise that the 59-year-old actor was as emotional as he was in his Twitter message this week. Additionally, Gould revealed in June that the final season likely would not have happened if the headliner hadn't survived the incident.

In his message, Odenkirk also made sure to express his sincere gratitude to the fans of Better Call Saul for their support and for giving them "a chance" despite coming off the heels of Breaking Bad's immense success. "We were given a chance, and hopefully we made the most of it. Thank you for staying with us," Odenkirk said. The actor ended his message by providing fans with his thoughts on the series. "Better Call Saul. Closely observed, idiosyncratic story about a very unique guy," he said. "A little slow at times. But, in the end, if you paid attention, it was about big, big things inside people."

Better Call Saul is available to stream on Netflix and AMC+.
