Lincoln Lawyer and Jane Got a Gun producer Scott Steindorff has optioned the film and television rights to Station Eleven, the bestselling post-apocalyptic novel by Emily St. John Mandel.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the project will be produced by Steindorff and Stone Village Pictures’ Dylan Russell.
A 2014 National Book Award finalist, Station Eleven is set in the years after a pandemic brings about the collapse of civilization, and centers on a small troupe of actors that moves from settlement to settlement in the Great Lakes region, performing Shakespeare and music for the survivors.
No writer is attached, but THR notes several directors are circling the project.
