Kids who got their '90s kicks in watching the first season of Power Rangers probably thought the same team of heroes would be together forever. That wasn't the case. In the second season of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Yellow Ranger Trini left the team along with Red Ranger Jason and Black Ranger Zack. In reality, the three actors portraying the characters had tried to negotiate for pay raises, but in fiction, Trini, Jason, and Zack were chosen to represent their country at a teen peace conference.

Though plenty of fans were surely broken up about the changing of the guard, their departure did pave the way for new Power Rangers in Aisha, Rocky, and Adam. Aisha took Trini's spot on the team as the new Yellow Ranger. The two had very different personalities. While Trini was calm and collected, Aisha was more energetic excitable. Both young women, however were incredibly intelligent, brave, and ready to help change the world. Which Yellow Ranger was the best?

10 Trini: Saves Billy

Trini And Billy In Mighty Morphin Power Rangers

Early episodes of Power Rangers deal with different members of the team getting over some of their biggest fears. For Yellow Ranger Trini, it's a fear of heights.

Trini is terrified to climb up the mountainous terrain on the outskirts of Angel Grove where a lot of their monster confrontations are. When a group of Putties attack the teens, however, Blue Ranger Billy ends up cornered and pretty close to the edge of a cliff. Trini forces herself into action, overcoming her fears, and saving Billy from being pushed off the side.

9 Aisha: Warns Adam

When Aisha becomes the Yellow Ranger, her friend Adam becomes the Black Ranger. Their civilian and Power Rangers lives cross when Adam tries to find a date for a dance.

Adam is incredibly shy around the girl he likes, so Aisha offers to help him out... only to find him later smitten with the new girl in school. Aisha immediately knows that something isn't quite right with "Sabrina," and tries to warn Adam, but he doesn't see it. Luckily, Aisha is there when the other girl transforms into Scorpina to help Adam fight her.

8 Trini: Takes On The Mantis

Another hallmark of the early episodes of the series is that certain skills of one particular team member would be needed to defeat the monster of the week. Sometimes, they had to save their friends; other times, their friends would be on hand to support them. When Trini decides to learn the "praying mantis" style of kung fu, she takes the lead.

Not only does Trini maintain her honor while fighting a trickster, but she also stays calm under pressure and learns a whole new style of martial arts. She's eventually able to defeat Mantis with the help of the team, but it's one of the few times Trini takes charge of the situation for the team.

7 Aisha: Withstands The Hate Master

When a monster is created with the specific intention to make people hate one another, all of the Power Rangers succumb to the effects - except for one. While the rest of her team is at one another's throats and not interested in protecting the world, Aisha is immune.

Aisha is still full of love and compassion - not to mention, a sense of duty - thanks to a recent gift from her grandmother. A necklace passed down to the women in her family has been infused with all of the love they have to offer, including Aisha's own, protecting her from giving in to hate.

6 Trini: Does The Job Longer

Trini The Original Yellow Ranger In Mighty Morphin Power Rangers

Despite Aisha replacing Trini in the Power Rangers roster, she doesn't actually remain on the team as long as Trini. Aisha appears in 68 episodes of the Mighty Morphin run. The first few episodes of her appearances don't include her time as a Ranger either.

Trini, on the other hand, dons her suit in her very first episode. She participates in battles and remains a Ranger for 88 total episodes, though fans can argue she's one even longer thanks to the canon of the comic books extending her journey.

5 Aisha: Is A Hero Before Becoming A Ranger

Rocky Aisha And Adam In Mighty Morphin Power Rangers

One of the big points in the favor of Aisha, Adam, and Rocky is that before the three of them are ever Power Rangers, they are still heroes. The three friends are just rollerblading through the park when the see a runaway baby stroller and chase it down to save the baby.

Aisha and her friends continue to help the Power Rangers as they go up against Putties and find themselves in tough spots over the course of several episodes. It's often Aisha leading the way to get Adam and Rocky to help.

4 Trini: Becomes An Omega Ranger

Trini Meets Aisha In Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Comics

There is a version of Omega Rangers in the Power Rangers SPD series, but Boom Studios has their own version of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers as well as the Omega Rangers. When Trini, Jason, and Zack leave the team for the teen version of a world peace conference, that's not all they do.

The trio also become a team of Power Rangers whose power has been dormant for hundreds of years. Powered by the elements, the Omega Rangers work in deep space against monsters, alien beings, and general evil powered by the rift in dimensions and the "shattered" morphing grid. That means that even after Trini turns her powers over to Aisha, she still remains a Power Ranger.

3 Aisha: Gives Kimberly A Place To Live

Aisha And Kimberly In Power Rangers

When Kimberly's mother is ready to remarry, it's to an artist who is based in France. While Kimberly loves her mother and wants her to be happy, she's not ready to leave the Power Rangers, afraid that it will put the team at a disadvantage.

Aisha comes up with a solution that means Kimberly doesn't have to teleport in from France or find a replacement just yet. She offers Kimberly the option to move in with her. This isn't just a nice thing for Aisha to do for her friend, but it helps maintain the team dynamic until they're all ready for another new member.

2 Trini: Is The First Ranger To Destroy A Monster Solo

Bones In Mighty Morphin Power Rangers

As the series gets deeper into its stories, quite a few of the Power Rangers face monsters on their own and are able to defeat them. Some fans might have thought the first to defeat a monster alone would be the team leader, but it's actually Trini.

In the episode "High Five," Trini is the Power Ranger to take on Bones. She does so after the Rangers take him on in their initial fight, defeating the minions sent to protect him and sending his head into a pool of lava. It's a milestone for the team, to see that they have the strength to do the same.

1 Aisha: Finds Her Own Replacement

Yellow Rangers Aisha And Tanya

When Aisha replaces Trini, it's not Trini who chooses her to take her place. Instead, it's Zordon who determines that Aisha, Adam, and Rocky should step into the spandex suits because of how much they've already proved themselves.

As Mighty Morphin Power Rangers comes to an end, however, Aisha goes on a journey to find a piece of the Zeo Crystal, and when she does, she meets Tanya. Tanya accompanies Aisha and gives her plenty of information along the way. When Aisha decides to stay behind and solve a problem in Tanya's community, she sends Tanya back to Angel Grove in her place, sure that the two are fated for this meeting. Tanya goes on to be the Yellow Zeo Ranger and the Yellow Turbo Ranger.
