When people think of female characters from X-Men comic books and films, the first heroine they always consider is Jean Grey. She gets the most attention and seems to be the main one that people naturally remember. She is far from underrated. Unfortunately, there is a long list of X-Men heroines who are just as strong, fearless, and powerful as Jean Grey but for some reason, they are super underrated.

These heroines are neglected when it comes to TV shows and movies and sometimes even forgotten by people who are not avid comic book readers. Here are some of the most intriguing, amazing, and dynamic X-Men heroines who shouldn’t be so underappreciated within and, especially, outside of the comic industry.

10 Rogue

Rogue

Rogue comes from X-Men as well and is known for her superpowers which allow her to drain the life out of anyone she touches. She has struggled with her powers in the past due to the fact that she wishes that she could kiss the guy she loves or hold hands with him without hurting him.

At one point in time, she was willing to pay money or do whatever it would possibly take in order to lose her powers. Luckily, she ended up maintaining her powers and learning how to better control them.

9 Sage

Sage

Sage is totally overlooked in comparison to other X-Men heroines. Not only is she is affiliated with the X-Men but she is also affiliated with the Hellfire Club. She was only part of that club in order to spy on them on behalf of Professor Xavier.

Sage is a mutant who received a whole lot of professional and academic guidance from Professor Xavier before she really knew what direction she was meant to take in her life. She was a confused mutant until she met him but he was fully on board to help her and guide her on her life's journey.

8 Psylocke

Psylocke is beyond impressive when it comes to X-Men heroines but for some reason, she is totally underrated. She deserves much more clout even after she was portrayed by the great actress, Olivia Munn. Even without Munn attached to the image of her, Psylocke is an awesome heroine.

The first time Psylocke was written into a comic book was back in December of 1976. She is able to use electrical currents in order to attack villains.

7 Emma Frost

Emma Frost

Emma Frost is another X-Men heroine who deserves a lot more attention and at this point, even her own TV show or movie. She is also known as the White Queen and she has teamed up with Jean Grey in comic book history.

Frost is able to take on her "diamond form" which is very different from her human form. She does this when she is in the middle of battle. The only problem is that when Frost is in her diamond form, she can potentially shatter.

6 Storm

Storm has incredible powers to match her fierce persona. She is able to control the weather, including lightning, thunder, and rain.

Storm is willing and able to use her powers for good because she fights alongside the X-Men. In the early 2000s, Halle Berry took on the role of Storm; however, in more recent years, Alexandra Shipp has stepped into the heroine's shoes. Storm was not given a great deal of attention in any of her film appearances, unfitting for a character who once led the X-Men.

5 Moonstar

Moonstar fires an arrow in Marvel Comics

True comic book lovers are likely to have heard of Moonstar. She is a member of the X-Men but for some reason, she is still very underrated. Along with the X-Men, she is also affiliated with the New Mutants and The Defenders.

Like plenty of other heroes and heroines, it is okay to have multiple affiliations. Moonstar is able to use powerful telepathy to her benefit when she is fighting against dangerous villains as well as energy manipulation.

4 Mystique

Mystique

Mystique is one of the most impressive superpowers ever. She’s able to shapeshift into any other person that she chooses to turn into. Although she played a big part in FOX's X-Men movies, Mystique does not quite have the reputation of a Wolverine, Jean Grey, or even Cyclops. She deserves to stand alongside those greats.

Mystique has several notable aliases due to the fact that she has been able to take on the bodies of a long list of Marvel characters in the past. When she isn’t transformed into another body, she has bumpy blue skin making her someone who easily stands out in a crowd.

3 Polaris

Polaris

Polaris is easily an X-Men heroine who should be more mainstream. More people need to pay attention to the fact that she is able to control magnetism and manipulate metal.

Polaris is almost like an Earthbender from Avatar: The Last Airbender, bending and manipulating metal with ease. Her powers are extremely rare and super incredible. The first time anyone ever saw her was in October 1968.

2 Jubilee

Jubilee

Jubilee is an awesome character from the world of Marvel who is affiliated with the X-Men. She was played by an awesome actress, Lana Condor, in X-Men: Apocalypse, who has gone on to make a name for herself as a performer. She also starred in the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before movie franchise.

Jubilee is able to generate energy plasma aids that she blasts from her hands. The blasts look like fireworks. How is it possible for Jubilee to be so underappreciated?

1 Kitty Pryde

Kitty Pryde phasing through electronics in X-Men comics

Kitty Pryde is a mutant who is part of the X-Men fighting squad. Her main power is telepathy, just like Jean Grey and Emma Frost. Although she has appeared in her fair share of media, Kitty Pryde is still a very underappreciated X-Men character even though she deserves a lot more attention and respect.

Kitty Pryde can move objects with her mind which is not something that a lot of the other X-Men heroes and heroines are able to naturally accomplish.
