The story revolves around Dr. Doom attempting to assemble his "Doom Ray of Doom" while Nick Fury assembles as many heroes as he can to stop the threat. While the story and settings are different, a handful of the heroes are designed to look like their Marvel Cinematic Universe actors such as Thor looking like Chris Hemsworth.

The 2.5D cartoon graphics look slick, and the combos are true to each character, including Thor using Mjolnir to call down lightning to dispatch his opponent. Players will want to grab an arcade stick for the most authentic fighting experience.

Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite moved to a more 3D cell-shaded look, adding a new dimension to the characters. While the fighting and combos look very good and run smoothly, the better overall experience is this sequel's predecessor.

Marvel Heroes was a free-to-play MMORPG that featured over 100 characters from the Marvel Universe. Players could choose from either heroes or villains to play as through a story that dealt with Dr. Doom, Ultron, and several other villains and evil plots.

Marvel Heroes' gameplay was fun and with so many heroes to choose from, fans and their friends could put together dream teams of their favorite heroes to play with, Thor included. However, in 2017, Disney parted ways with Gazillion Entertainment, the game's developer, and shut the game down in 2017. It lasted six years online and proved that a Marvel MMO can work.
