Kicking off the list is the second season of Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon, also known as DanMachi. Bell Cranel and everyone’s favorite useless goddess Hestia—sorry, Aqua—are back with more adventures for the Hestia Familia. Bell, the Little Rookie, is now a level three adventurer and is starting to grasp his real power.

This season of DanMachi focuses more on the Hestia Family’s rivalries with the other Familias rather than dungeon exploring. Is it Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? 2 is 12 episodes and finished during the summer 2019 season.

9 Wasteful Days of High School Girls

Wasteful Days of High School Girls follows the girls of Sainotama Girls High School. Akane Kikuchi is one of the students at the high school and dreams of becoming a manga artist. Her two best friends, Shiori Saginomiya and Nozomu Tanaka, also have their own goals, including finding boyfriends.

However, finding a boyfriend—and even a boy in general—proves quite difficult for the girls of the all-girl high school and adventure past the campus. This school comedy anime showcases the lives of the different girls. Wasteful Days of High School Girls is 12 episodes and finished during the summer 2019 season.

8 How Many Kilograms are the Dumbbells You Lift?

How Many Kilograms are the Dumbbells you Lift? follows Hibiki Sakura on her journey to lose weight. She joins Silverman Gym with Akemi Souryuuin, the student council president, and Hibiki struggles to lose weight because of her love for food. Along the way, she meets new friends at the gym that all share the same goal as her: looking good to get a boyfriend.

Each episode, a new workout routine is taught to the viewers. The workouts can be done at a gym or at home and show exactly which muscles are being used. How Many Kilograms are the Dumbbells you Lift? is 12 episodes and finished during the summer 2019 season.

7 Fire Force

Fire Force is an anime about a new cause of death in the world. Human combustion can happen at any time turning a person into an Infernal. Firefighters, known as "pyrokinetics" are people gifted enough to control their flames and avoid being an Infernal.

Shinra Kusakabe, also known as Devil, joins the 8th Special Fire Brigade. The story follows him while he fights Infernals looking for clues to find his kidnapped younger brother Shou, whom he once thought was dead. Fire Force is projected to be 24 episodes and will finish in the fall 2019 season.

6 Maidens of the Savage Season

O Maidens In Your Savage Season

Maidens of the Savage Season follows five girls of the literature club. The girls are all interested in sex, even though they don’t understand it fully. The high school students are struggling with real-world issues such as crushes, the need to feel pretty, and their friendships between each other. The five girls each have their own romantic interests as they adventure through high school. Maidens of the Savage Season is 12 episodes and finished during the summer 2019 season.

5 Given

Given follows Ritsuka Uenoyama the lead guitarist in a band called Seasons. Playing guitar is Ritsuka’s passion. When he meets Mafuyu Satou, he offers to fix his broken strings on his guitar. Not knowing how to play, Mafuyu watches Ritsuka’s band practices and is captivated by Ritsuka.

The two begin to hang out more which leads to Ritsuka hearing to Mafuyu sing. Instantly falling in love with his voice, Mafuyu joins the band but struggles to write lyrics. Mafuyu and Ritsuka develop feelings for each other but have trouble conveying it to each other at times. Given is 11 episodes and finished during the summer 2019 season. It is set to have a movie in 2020.

4 Dr. Stone

One of the most popular anime of summer 2019, Dr. Stone takes place in a world recently awakened from being petrified to stone. Vegetation has run wild and civilization needs a restart. Senkuu, a high school boy obsessed with Science is just the right guy to do it. Senkuu is a super-genius that has just the right solution for every problem he encounters.

While this may land him in the overpowered category, it works for the sake of the story. Senkuu along with his friends Taiju and Yuzuriha must restart civilization before Tsukasa creates a revolution of a world without adults. Dr. Stone is projected to be 24 episodes and will finish in the fall 2019 season.

3 Astra Lost in Space

Set in the future during the year 2063, Astra Lost in Space follows Aries Spring, a girl who wants to befriend the space camp. At the space camp, the cast of characters are sucked into a black light stranding them somewhere in space.

Setting out on a set of adventures, the team must find a way back to their home. Working together, they realize it isn’t going to be an easy feat. Astra Lost in Space is 12 episodes and finished during the summer 2019 season.

2 Teasing Master Takagi-san 2

The final sequel to make the list, Teasing Master Takagi-san 2 is back with more adventures. Takagi is back to her usual antics of teasing Nishikata. Given the amount of teasing Nishikata received in the first season, you would think he has learned by now how to deal with Takagi. Yet, he still finds himself victim to her tricks.

What separates season two from season one is that there is more focus on Nishikata and Takagi’s romantic relationship. The two are a perfect fit together but still won’t admit it to each other. Teasing Master Takagi-san 2 is 12 episodes and finished during the summer 2019 season.

1 Vinland Saga

Vinland Saga is widely regarded as the best anime to come out this summer 2019 season. It might even be the best anime to come out in 2019. The historical-adventure anime follows Thorfinn, a skilled fighter that pledges to avenge his father.

However, to do so, he must forgo everything his father taught him. Thorfinn struggles with losing himself because he is too set on his goal. Throughout the show, he is constantly tested on what he truly values and what he is willing to sacrifice. Vinland Saga is projected to be 24 episodes and will finish during the fall 2019 season.
