Steven Universe is a special cartoon because it has touched people of all ages. It deals with heavy and deep themes such as relationships, abuse, war, and trauma. Not quite what we all expected from a show that had its first episode be about ice cream!

Due to its humor, themes, and unique style, Steven Universe has fans of all ages. It is no surprise that some dedicated fans get tattoos to commemorate the show on their person. Here are 10 Steven Universe tattoos that we love! Be sure to check out the links to the talented artists.

10 Ruby & Sapphire

Ruby and Sapphire are major symbols of what makes Steven Universe special. They are gems who were once stuck in their respective roles. By falling in love with each other though, they broke the rules and became Garnet.

We absolutely love the colors and style of this fan tattoo. You get to see Ruby and Sapphire as well as their first time as Garnet all the way to the present Garnet. The artist is brandon_bec. He's also done fan tattoos for Spider-Man, Naruto, Brave, and more.

9 Pumpkin Dog

Pumpkin is an adorable crop that Steven brought to life with his powers. It acts just like a dog and was adopted by Lapis and Peridot. Her current whereabouts are unknown, but she lived in the Barn for a while and then in Steven's bathroom with Peridot. It makes for an adorable tattoo! Botanical tattoos are pretty popular, so this is a creative idea to have one with a fan twist.

Cookie cat is a major symbol in the show. It was a plot point in the very first episode. As the show went on, a lot of fans have theorized that Cookie Cat was a foreshadow of the story of Pink Diamond. Like the song for the Cookie Cat commercials, he is an alien from outer space that left his family behind. It's face is also half white and half pink, much like how Steven is half human and half gem!

7 Rose's Sword

Rose's sword is a popular fan tattoo choice. The weapon has appeared in many episodes and has been used by Rose, Connie, Steven, Stevonnie, and Pearl. It was used to stage the fake death of Pink Diamond as well, which is a pretty big deal! Besides being a big part of the show, the sword is just pretty.

6 Garnet

Garnet is one of the coolest cartoon characters out there. Fans love her songs, her square-hair, and how she symbolizes the relationship between two people. She often acts as the rock of the Crystal Gems and dispenses a lot of wisdom throughout the series. She is also a pretty great fighter!

The tattoo was done by Hannah Espinoza. Other animation fan tattoos she has done include Scooby Doo, Futurama, Howl's Moving Castle, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Rick and Morty, Ponyo, Dragon Ball Z, and much more.

5 Spinel Gem

Steven Universe: The Movie introduced a new character that became quite popular with the fandom. That character is Spinel, a gem that was once a playmate/friend of Pink Diamonds. However, Pink Diamond abandoned her and she ended up wasting thousands of years waiting for her without knowing that she was gone! A lot of fans saw themselves in Spinel and felt pity for how she was treated.

The tattoo was done by Meredith Littlesky at Terrarium Tattoo.

4 Lion

Every cartoon needs its own cute animal mascot. For Steven Universe, that cute animal is Pink Lion. We don't know a lot about its history, but it belonged to Rose. Fans theorize that the lion was found dead and her tears brought it back to life and made him pink (like Lars). You don't have to get a color tattoo though, as this one is adorable on its own!

3 Peridot And Lion

We love this adorable duo! We have lion, but in color this time, with Peridot. What we love the most about this Peridot design is that they included the alien boxers that she fell in love with! Who can blame her? They look amazing. She herself is a green alien too, so they match!

The tattoo was done by Gracie Gosling. Other fandom tattoos she has done include Brave, Adventure Time, Dragon Ball Z, Yu-Gi-Oh, Sailor Moon, Bobs Burgers, Beauty and the Beast, Bambi, and much more.

2 Steven Meets Steven

The show's finale had a favorite scene for many fans. It is the scene where Steven is separated from his mothers' gem by White Diamond. White Diamond expects Pink Diamond to come out of the gem, but instead it is simply Steven. He has always just been himself, not his mother. Upon meeting himself, the two Stevens cry with joy and dance back into one being. It is a beautiful scene, and it is no wonder fans would want it commemorated on themselves.

This tattoo was done by mikesgarbageart. He has also done fan tattoos of Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Princess Tutu, Akira, My Neighbor Totoro, Sailor Moon, and others.

1 Lion & The Crystal Gem

Here we have lion along with the gems of the Crystal Gems. In order from left to right we have Ruby, Amethyst, Rose/Steven, Pearl, and Sapphire. As for the words, they are lyrics from one of the songs in the show. The butterflies are from the songs' scene as well.

The tattoo was done by Kelley “Pony” Goodwin.
