The Scarlet Witch can be a controversial character. Once having depowered most mutants, she ranks low on the scale of beloved characters to X-Men fans. At the end of the day, however, Wanda Maximoff is just a witch trying to keep her emotions and her powers in check. She's got a big heart and even bigger strength.
Scarlet Witch can be an intimidating character to cosplay. In most of her comics appearances, she appears in nothing more than a low-cut leotard and tights. Nevertheless, the following cosplayers boldly donned the red bodice to embody the empathetic and powerful Wanda.
10 Adami Langley
Adami Langley went classic Wanda Maximoff here with the red leather leotard and the brightly colored pinkish-red tights. She even managed to replicate the pink color across her chest and arms, just like the comics. How did she do that? Langley also has the perfect, skin-tight boots replicated to a T.
Langley is an accomplished cosplayer and model. Not only does she replicate the costumes of the characters she chooses but she also brings life to them through the meaningful expressions on her face. Her Instagram contains more of her cosplays, including an excellent Phoenix.

Amapolchen has a hint of a smile on her face as she poses for the camera as Scarlet Witch. Her Wanda cosplay appears to be made of satin and she shines in it. Her brown curls cascade down nearly to her waist. This Wanda Maximoff, like the original, is entirely self-made.
Vwpic took this glowing shot of Amapolchen. The cosplayer has a huge library of well-made, detailed cosplays. She has a gorgeous Lady Thor. She also cosplays less common characters such as America Chavez and Squirrel Girl.
8 Juby Headshot
Cosplayer Juby Headshot created this Marvel look. The bodice is well-tailored, shiny pleather in that iconic Scarlet red. The headpiece is smoothly cut into that witchy shape. Headshot's cape has a gorgeous velvet texture. This whole outfit is full of unique materials.
The photographer behind this stunning edit is Oriol. The edit adds Wanda's powers to Headshot's costume. The circles are often used to represent Wanda's reality-shifting sorcery. Headshot is a cosplayer with other looks such as Emma Frost and Mystique.
7 Aoshi Ame

Aoshi Ame looks just like Wanda in this edit by Dorian. They wear pearlescent tights that make the red look painted on. The bodice is sculpted and Ame wears the over-the-elbow red satin gloves. The long cape billows behind them as Wanda charges her magic before a fight.
Ame is predominantly an Anime cosplayer. They have a lovely Rei Ayanami cosplay from Neon Genesis Evangelion as well as a truly amazing Eliza Faust from Shaman King.
6 Laura (lolainprogress)
Laura flashed back to one of her earlier cosplays, Scarlet Witch. She chose one of her less common looks: the dress from Uncanny Avengers. Instead of a leotard, Wanda wears a calf-length dress. In red, of course. She still has the gloves and the boots, as well as red leggings. Her headpiece is a bit more encompassing, sitting atop her mass of brown curls.
Valentin took this strong photo and Tascha Dearing edited it. Laura is a cosplayer and self-proclaimed "shameless nerd." She has a collection of gorgeous homemade costumes including a movie-style Wonder Woman with a hand-carved armored bodice.
5 Starbuxx
Starbuxx took a break from playing Animal Crossing to share this photo of herself as Wanda Maximoff. She has the bright red leotard, the heeled boots, and the slinky gloves. Her hair falls in ringlets behind her headpiece as she holds her cape up for the camera.
Miccostumes made this gorgeous cosplay. Starbuxx, a biology Masters student, has many other cosplays in her repertoire. She also dresses as Rey and even Wendy from the famous fast-food chain.
4 Erin Scarlet
Erin Scarlet embodies the Scarlet Witch from her jeweled headpiece to her smokey magic coming from her fingertips. The headpiece comes from Wanda's solo run in 2016. Scarlet also wears the leotard and cape. Though she combines a few different looks, this Wanda clearly channels the comics.
Wert Photography captured Scarlet's cosplay back at Anime Boston in 2016. Scarlet is a cosplayer based in Boston. She has more than one Scarlet Witch costume including a Wanda all decked out in red Worbla armor.
3 Yaya Han
Famous cosplayer Yaya Han chose to emulate the Wanda Maximoff from her solo comic book. In the comic, Wanda is trying to fix both herself and magic. This heroic Wanda wears an embroidered bodice over pleather leggings. Instead of a long cape, she wears a shorter version. Her headpiece is delicately jeweled and the red gloves have been replaced by wrist-length black ones.
Brian Boling captured this look that Han created herself. Her craftsmanship is beyond compare. She also made a more traditional Scarlet Witch with the red leotard. She also has a classic, yet detailed, Batgirl.
2 Heather (redshoecosplay)
Heather embodies the dramatic aura of the Scarlet Witch in this cosplay. Her boots, gloves, and headpiece are all made of the same textured, red fabric. She wears the classic red bodice and the sheer red tights. Her cape flies out beside her as if propelled by her magic itself.
Andrew DeRose took this bold photo. An Australian cosplayer, Heather also calls herself a "master procrastinator." Despite her procrastinating tendencies, she also cosplays as Baby Yoda, Kim Possible and Poison Ivy.

Sophie also took a classic approach to cosplaying Scarlet Witch. The bodice and gloves are made of the same shiny fabric that reflects the light of her magic. She also wears a headpiece and cape in a more matte red.
