Unfortunately, the manga has been on an extended hiatus since November 2018, with only 42 chapters of the Succession Contest arc published in Shonen Jump.

Hunter × Hunter received near-universal praise for its diverse storyline, detailed worldbuilding, and intricately designed mythos. The narrative's combat system is based on Nen, or "Mind Force," which imbues its main characters with incredible power and martial capabilities. As such, there are countless overpowered scenes scattered throughout Hunter × Hunter.

10 Netero Smacks Neferpitou Away From The Royal Palace

Hunter x Hunter — Netero and Pitou

Netero humbly wonders if the Ant King's Royal Guard is stronger than he is, much to Morel and Knov's chagrin. The Hunter Association's Chairman eventually proves to be far more powerful than Neferpitou, as illustrated by his split-second response to their attack.

Despite Neferpitou's heightened levels of perception, their Terpsichora takes 100 milliseconds to activate, making it far too slow to land a hit on someone like Netero. The old man lambastes Pitou's weak technique before smacking them several miles away from the Royal Place.

9 Biscuit Unleashes Her True Power On Greed Island

Biscuit true form

Biscuit Krueger prefers to present herself as a young woman, stating that she doesn't enjoy her real appearance. Her tactic is extremely useful during combat, as her opponents regularly misjudge her true strength. She challenges Bara to a duel on the Greed Island shoreline, where the villain foolishly mistakes her confidence for bravado.

Biscuit promptly releases her full power and defeats Bara with a face-shattering punch. She even mentions that she "can't control [herself] when [she] reverts," and that she "ends up killing [her] opponents" by accident.

The Spiders proceed to "kill every person who interferes," savagely slaughtering hundreds of assassins, the Mafia, as well as the police. Chrollo Lucilfer mock-conducts the requiem from a highrise rooftop, dolefully describing it as "fierce and drenched with blood, yet somehow overwhelmingly sad."

Anime Hunter X Hunter Gon Transformed Adult Pitou Fight

Gon orders Neferpitou to resurrect Kite, but the Royal Guard convinces him to wait until they finish healing a fatally injured Komugi. Pitou later leads Gon to an abandoned castle, where they hesitantly reveal that Kite is beyond their help. Pitou's explanation drives the young hero off the deep end, explaining why he barters his future potential for immeasurable strength.

Gon transforms into an adult and breaks half the bones in his enemy's body with his overpowered Jajanken: Rock technique. Although Neferpitou doesn't survive this encounter, their post-death Terpsichora would have killed Gon had Killua not intervened.

While Hisoka manages to a few shots in, he is woefully outmatched by his opponent. Chrollo converts over 200 audience members into an army of mindless puppets and rigs them to explode when they come within striking distance of Hisoka. Chrollo ultimately wins the fight, but is unable to kill Hisoka.

Their tongue-in-cheek annoyance turns to genuine terror after Feitan unleashes the most dangerous ability in his Nen arsenal. Feitan's Rising Sun gradually reduces Zazan to a pile of smoldering ash.

4 Neferpitou Dismembers Kite In A Single Move

Killua saves Gon from Neferpitou Hunter X Hunter

Hoping to keep Gon and Killua safe, Kite monitors the Chimera Ant Queen's nest from a great distance. Despite taking every precaution in the book, Kite severely underestimates his soon-to-be opponent — Neferpitou senses his presence the moment he makes contact with their tentacular En.

The Chimera Ant reaches the Hunter's location in a heartbeat, cleaving his right arm off with a single blow. Kite orders Killua to "take Gon and run" before engaging Neferpitou in a one-on-one fight to the death. Pitou is later seen cradling Kite's dismembered head in their lap.

3 Killua Singlehandedly Wins The Hunter Exam

Killua takes all tags hunter exam

Killua leaves Gon behind in Greed Island and travels to Beeskafmarro, where he intends to pass the Hunter Exam as quickly as possible. Only 300 applicants are allowed into the Second Phase, so the examiner asks each of them to acquire five badges in order to pass the preliminary round.

Unwilling to waste his precious time, Killua singlehandedly defeats his competitors, ending the exam in the First Phase itself. He saunters up to the examiner with 1,488 badges in tow, impishly stating that "it took [him] a while to collect all their tags." That said, Killua would have never succeeded if Hisoka and Illumi had been around during the 288th Hunter Exam.

1 Meruem Tanks Netero's Zero Hand With Minimal Damage

Netero Zero Hand Hunter x Hunter

Netero's 100-Type Guanyin Bodhisattva is arguably the most powerful Nen construct in Hunter × Hunter. And yet, his incessant barrage fails to make a single dent in Meruem's indestructible body. The Chimera Ant King severs Netero's right leg and left arm, forcing the old man to unleash his terrifying Zero Hand.

The Bodhisattva wraps the villain between its palms and releases "the entirety of Netero's aura with a merciless roar." Meruem emerges from the resulting rubble relatively unscathed, except for a few cuts, dings, and scratches. That is, of course, until Netero's ritual suicide triggers the nuke connected to his heart.
