Throughout the anime and manga, they have shared a couple of moments that sparked the debate on whether a character as dense as Naruto would figure out. We're going to look back through the series to rank the best Naruto and Hinata moments.

Updated By Amanda Bruce On June 23, 2020: With so many great moments between Naruto and Hinata to choose from, we couldn't stop at ten. This list has been updated from its initial 10 moments to include five more of the best instances in their relationship. Some of the moments teased the relationship to come, while others remind fans of what the characters were like as children.

15 Naruto Experiences Hinata's Memories (The Last: Naruto The Movie)

Naruto And Hinata Become Intertwined During A Genjutsu In The Last Naruto The Movie

Fans know the moment Hinata is introduced in the series that she has a bit of a crush on Naruto. She admires him and is incredibly shy around him, almost unable to form a sentence. Naruto, however, spends most of childhood and teenage years oblivious.

That changes during the events of The Last: Naruto The Movie. Thanks to a genjutsu, Hinata and Naruto become tangled in each other's memories. Naruto gets to see himself through Hinata's eyes, realizing just how much she cares for him. The experience opens his eyes to just how much he's also grown to care for her.

14 Boruto And Himawari Learn Of Hinata's Crush (Boruto, Ep. 127)

Hinata looking at a book with Himawari and Boruto (Boruto)

By the events of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, Hinata and Naruto have been married for over a decade. There's no reason for the two to be embarrassed about their past. Hinata, however, is still a bit embarrassed about just how she used to "watch" Naruto as a kid.

When Boruto and Himawari are interested in what their father was like as a child, Hinata details how similar he is to his younger self as an adult. Her admiration for him is clear as she talks about keeping an eye on him from a young age. It prompts Boruto to wonder how long she and Naruto had feelings for one another - which leaves Hinata changing the subject to avoid admitting the crush was one-sided for years.

13 Kiba Teases Naruto In The Middle Of Battle (Manga, Chapter 611)

Kiba Teases Naruto About Hinata In Naruto Manga Chapter 611

For much of the series, Naruto isn't even aware of his own developing feelings for Hinata. That doesn't mean other people aren't.

Kiba, in particular, is incredibly observant of the relationships that develop amongst his friends. He often teases Hinata about her feelings for Naruto and reprimands Sakura for her treatment of Naruto. In the middle of the Fourth Shinobi World War, however, he takes a moment to tease Naruto - for showing off in front of Hinata. It's not the best time to be focused on the love lives of your friends, but Kiba is always right when it comes to crushes, so it was a quick hint that Naruto and Hinata would end up as more than friends.

12 Naruto Calls Hinata Beautiful (Naruto, Ep. 148)

Hinata Trains In A Waterfall In Naruto

The original anime series featured a lot of "filler" arcs that fleshed out some characters but weren't actually adapted from anything in the manga. The "Bikochu Search Mission" arc is one of those. In it, Naruto teamed up with Hinata, Kiba, and Shino to look for a special beetle that would help them track Sasuke.

While on the mission, Hinata sneaks away at night to train, developing her own jutsu, in a waterfall. She does it sans clothing, not wanting to have to sleep in wet clothes. Naruto gets up in the middle of the night and sees someone in the water, but not knowing it's her, tells Kiba he saw a beautiful girl the night before. Hinata doesn't tell him it's her, embarrassed that he even saw her, and the moment passes. It's significant for fans, however, because it's one of the first times Naruto complements Hinata instead of calling her "weird" or encouraging her to fight.

11 Hinata Can Tell The Real Naruto From A Clone (Manga, Chapter 559)

Hinata Knows Naruto Is Not A Clone In Naruto Manga Chapter 559

Imposters make a lot of trouble during big battles in the series. One of the ways they do that is by White Zetsu clones taking on the appearance of allies in the Fourth Shinobi World War.

While everyone else is concerned that Naruto's sudden reappearance on the scene means he might be a clone, Hinata is the only one sure he's not. She tells her teammates that all she has to do is see Naruto's eyes. It's sweet, and in any other moment, probably would have caused Kiba to jokingly question her about Naruto's eye color.

10 Naruto And Hinata's First Meeting (The Last: Naruto The Movie)

Naruto And Hinata First Meeting in the snow

Naruto and Hinata's first meeting is detailed in The Last: Naruto The Movie. If you're wondering why it took 15 years for Masashi Kishimoto to reveal how they first met, get in line. Either way, the fans were happy about this tidbit of information. This explained more in-depth why Hinata loves him.

On the first day of school at Konoha Academy, Hinata is bullied because of her Byakugan. Naruto comes to Hinata's defense. Although he is beaten unconscious, he inspires her by not giving up, lets her keep his red scarf tattered in the crossfire, and causes her to begin watching him.

9 Naruto Inviting Hinata For Ramen (The Last: Naruto The Movie)

This is a moment that doesn't get a lot of attention because it's overshadowed by the other moments throughout the movie. After attempting to give Naruto the red scarf she knitted on the Rinne Festival and failing to confess her love, she returns home only to be encouraged by Hanabi.

While practicing her confession in front of his house, she happens to meet Naruto, and her stomach growls. Without thinking of his word choice (which is nothing out of the usual for him), he invites Hinata to eat ramen in his apartment... and she runs away, much to her embarrassment.

8 Hinata Giving Naruto Ointment (Naruto, Ep. 27)

Hinata Giving Naruto Ointment

The Chuunin exams were full of excitement and are regarded as the best arc in the anime to many fans, so it's no surprise this moment is often eclipsed. This is one of the few times Hinata mustered up her courage to approach Naruto during the series.

After Naruto and Kiba's fight, she offers her teammate as well as Naruto the Hyuga Clan Secret Ointment to heal their wounds. Although he wonders why she's offering it to him as well, Kurenai tells him to accept it. The Last: Naruto The Movie references this moment, but instead makes Hinata apply it on his wounded back.

7 Hinata Slapping The Sense Into Naruto (Naruto Shippuden, Ep. 364)

Hinato and Naruto Fourth Shinobi War

Unlike the other cheerful moments between them, this one has a more serious tone but must make the list nonetheless because of the impact it had on the fandom. During the Fourth Shinobi War, Hinata, Neji, and Hisashi were all supposed to protect a weakened Naruto from an oncoming attack.

But, when they're occupied with protecting the other ninjas, it left only Hinata open to attack before Neji sacrificed himself to protect her. As the deaths of his allies push him to the brink of giving up, Hinata, still in the midst of mourning her family, brings Naruto to his senses by slapping him and reminding him of his personal vow.

6 Chuunin Exams Blood Vow (Naruto, Ep. 47)

Naruto making a vow to win for Hinata

Here's another moment during the Chuunin exams, but one that did gain a lot of attention for the meaning behind the action. This is one of the first episodes where viewers are introduced to the Byakugan with Hinata's and Neji's fight that spanned 2 episodes.

After almost killing Hinata during their fight, a few Jounin stop him from delivering the final blow. Watching this, Naruto can't understand why he would go so far as to almost kill his family, wipes some of her blood off the floor, and vows to avenge her instead. This is in line with Naruto's personality of caring for his friends and acts as an early moment between them.

5 Naruto And Hinata Sharing Chakra (Naruto Shippuden, Ep. 364)

Continuing after Neji's death and Hinata bringing Naruto back to his senses, we have this empowering scene in a moment of darkness. Despite Obito's jeering about how his allies' deaths are his fault and telling him everything he's doing is meaningless, Hinata managed to make him not give up.

Even Kurama joins in her encouragement and tells him his sacrifice was akin to that of his parents, which weren't meaningless. Returning to himself, Naruto recharges, takes Hinata's hand and shares some of Kurama's chakra with her before returning to the battlefield. The Naruto games address this moment as an ultimate Jutsu.

4 Hinata Saving Naruto From Pain (Naruto Shippuden, Ep. 166)

Hinata protecting Naruto from Pain (Naruto)

Who could ever forget this moment? With an episode name like "Confession" and an extra episode that showed why Hinata loves him, it appeared she was dead after the episode ended as well. After Hinata spots Naruto pinned down with her Byakugan, she jumps to his defense to protect him.

Despite Naruto telling her to leave, Hinata confesses her love for him and is able to pull out a few of the receivers before Pain "kills" her with one of his black receivers. The moment was a staple for her as a character and cemented many fans' opinions about who Naruto should end up with when the series ends.

3 Naruto Confessing To Hinata (The Last: Naruto The Movie)

This was a moment every fanfiction writer had dreamed (and wrote) about but never knew it would come to fruition. After a break in the search for Hanabi, Hinata sneaks away that night to continue knitting the scarf that is ruined multiple times during the movie, unbeknownst to her that Naruto is following.

As Hinata laments about how she's a horrible sister because all she can do is knit, Naruto consoles her by saying she's been doing a good job. The most surprising part is that while he's cheering her up, he lets it slip that he loves her. The moment was bittersweet, however, because Hinata was in a position where she couldn't accept it.

2 Naruto And Hinata's Kiss (The Last: Naruto The Movie)

Taking the #2 spot on this list is also another thing fans have been waiting for: Naruto and Hinata's kiss. It wasn't any ordinary kiss; it was a kiss while floating in the sky in front of the moon. Talk about a perfect first kiss.

The lead up to the kiss is also a perfect way to show their growth throughout the series. After their feelings are confirmed for each other by Naruto stating he wants to spend the rest of his life with her, they run out of a cave while going through memories from childhood to adulthood.

1 Naruto And Hinata's Wedding (Naruto Shippuden, Ep. 500)

The #1 Naruto and Hinata moment is one we never thought we would get: their wedding. In the final arc of the series, Konoha Hiden: The Perfect Day for a Wedding, is about what their friends and citizens of Konoha plan to get them as a present.

While Hinata thinks of Neji, Naruto thinks of his father. They both think about their loved ones who are no longer with them, which really completes the scene, before making an important decision such as marriage. After taking Naruto's hand, the two get married and close the book on the series while opening a new one for their relationship.
