The Outlaws Ride on Prime Video

One of the most prolific, celebrated writers in British television comedies is Stephen Merchant, and he's teaming up with Mayans M.C. writer Elgin James for the new Prime Video original series The Outlaws. The comedy series brings together a motley crew mandated to perform community service for various crimes in the English city Bristol. However, when they come across a bag full of money, they find themselves targeted by a deadly gang looking to recover it by any means necessary.

The Outlaws blends Merchant's usual comical penchant with a crime story that puts the main characters in genuine peril. Much of Merchant's work brings together an unlikely ensemble of social misfits, and The Outlaws utilizes this trope to great effect. As a bonus, beloved actor Christopher Walken is part of the main cast, starring as a ne'er-do-well American living with his English daughter and sentenced to carry out community service with the others, lending his iconic voice prominently to the proceedings.

The Twilight Saga Rises on Hulu

Edward and Bella lying on the grass in Twilight.

With Robert Pattinson defending Gotham City on the big screen in The Batman, the movie series that made him a household name has arrived on Hulu in its entirety. All five films in The Twilight Saga, adapting author Stephanie Meyer's novel series, are now on the digital platform to revisit. While not exactly high art, there is a certain guilty pleasure and nostalgic thrill that comes with watching the supernatural love story.

Twilight follows high schooler Bella Swan moving in with her father in his small Washington town only to discover that a group of her classmates are a family of vampires. Bella finds herself falling in love with one of the vampires, a sensitive young man named Edward, while she learns werewolves also live in the area. Joining Pattinson is Academy Award nominee Kristen Stewart as Bella, with a surprising amount of familiar faces acting in the supernatural soap opera.

Watchmen Reassemble to Save the Day on Hulu

The Watchmen all grouped together.

With Zack Snyder's Justice League getting a major shoutout during the 94th Academy Awards, the director's first superhero epic is now on Hulu. The 2009 film Watchmen adapts Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' universally acclaimed DC Comics story, bringing a postmodern edge to the superhero genre. Watchmen follows a group of superheroes who investigate the murder of one of their own only to stumble across a sinister conspiracy.

An adaptation of Watchmen had been stuck in development hell for years, with Snyder ultimately sticking closely to the source material for his film. In addition to its stylized sequences, Watchmen features a particularly strong performance from Jackie Earle Haley as the vigilante Rorschach. Offering a darker, more violent alternative to comic book movies at the time, Watchmen is elevated by Snyder's visual flair as it adapts the landmark comic story.

Jet Li's Fearless Brings Its Sweeping Martial Arts Epic to Prime Video

Martial arts action star Jet Li had risen to fame starring in historical epics like Once Upon a Time in China before transitioning to more modern action movie fare, with his final wushu film now available on Prime Video. 2006's Fearless loosely dramatizes the life and times of real-life martial artist Huo Yuanjia, who actively defended China’s cultural honor in the face of foreign imperialists in the 19th century. Working with director Ronny Yu and legendary martial arts choreographer Yuen Woo-ping, Fearless boasts some of Li's most impressive fight sequences to date.

While Fearless has understandably been criticized for taking drastic liberties with details and figures from Huo Yuanjia's life, the movie is a fitting end to Li's line of wushu epics. Li gives one of his more emotionally vulnerable performances in the film and still gets plenty of opportunities to kick ass. For those looking for a solid martial arts movie, Fearless certainly should be on the shortlist.

Walk Hard Hilariously Reimagines Music History on Hulu

While actor John C. Reilly is making waves starring in the acclaimed HBO series Winning Time, one of his funniest films has arrived on Hulu. 2007's Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story had Reilly lead an all-star cast as it parodied musical biopics like Walk the Line. The fictional Dewey Cox is a rockabilly icon in the tradition of Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley, brushing shoulders with many famous figures over his life and career.

Though Reilly is known for his comedic pairings with Will Ferrell, Walk Hard more than proves that he can hold his own and take point himself. The movie encapsulates Cox's rock'n'roll rise in the 1950s, leading to his twilight years in the present day, with Cox's life being a rollercoaster ride of vice and pitch-perfect comical songs. And the chance to watch Paul Rudd, Jack Black, Jason Schwartzman and Justin Long hilariously portray The Beatles is worth the price of admission alone.
