Solomon Kane follows the titular mercenary who, after stating he will shed no more blood, is forced to pick up his arms once more to save a puritan girl from Malachi, a follower of the Devil. Solomon Kane has a period setting, putting a fantastical twist on 1600s England.
Like Elden Ring, Solomon Kane involves the protagonist trekking across a brutish landscape, aiding rebels along the way to achieve their goal. While the goals differ, the overarching themes are the same.

Perhaps more than anything though, it is the setting of Pan's Labyrinth that is similar to Elden Ring, and del Toro's film puts a fantasy twist on a period setting. The cinematography and color palette of Pan's Labyrinth is bleak with a green tinge, while the creatures are realistic and terrifying.

Many fans have noted that A24's 2021 movie The Green Knight perfectly embodies the boss-fight aspect of Elden Ring and the other Souls games. Despite the lighter colors of the movie, the themes of corruption and death emphasize the darkness of this changing world. It is a must-watch, whether an anime fan or not.

Highlander closely mirrors Elden Ring's combat more than anything else, along with the immortal nature of the characters and the setting at the start of the movie. Highlander is cheesy and camp, but wonderfully enjoyable and ideal for gamers who are burnt out from playing Elden Ring for too long.

Following a man tasked with killing a writer, A Writer's Odyssey blends reality with fantasy and Chinese mythology as the world the writer is creating comes to life. Characters are transported to another world where they must kill the monstrous Lord Redmane, who looks like he has been pulled straight from a Dark Souls game. A Writer's Odyssey is one of the best Chinese films to be released in the past year.
