The best of these create such a reputation that their name circulates not only within their own village but also across the Five Great Nations as well.
But some of the most fearsome reputations belong to the world's kunoichi, or female shinobi. These women are absurdly strong, develop deadly and overpowered jutsu, and serve as icons for their respective villages to revere and emulate. It isn't surprising that many of them went on to lead their nations into eras of greatness.
10 Lady Chiyo Crushed Sasori's One-Hundred Puppets Using Only Ten
Lady Chiyo was a famed puppeteer shinobi from Sunagakure. She led the Puppet Brigade and was a medical ninja while in active duty. Alongside her brother, she's referred to as one of Sunagakure's Honorable Siblings due to her invention of several jutsu and mastery of the Human Puppet technique.
Lady Chiyo most notable ability was her White Secret Technique: The Chikamatsu Collection of Ten Puppets. By controlling one puppet with each of her fingers, Lady Chiyo had the strength of an army at her fingertips. She used this technique to defeat Sasori, a member of the Akatsuki, destroying him and his 100 puppets using only 10 of her own.
9 Ameyuri Ringo Reigned As Kirigakure's Strongest Woman While Alive
Ameyuri Ringo was a kunoichi from Kirigakure who defected from the village to join the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist. During her lifetime, she was proclaimed as one of the strongest shinobi in Kirigakure and was the only woman to join the Seven Swordsman. She utilized the Kiba twin blades, the sharpest swords ever made, with alarming precision and efficiency.
Ameyuri's bloodlust was strong enough to overwhelm superior opponents or cause others to flee in fear. Due to her size and agility, Ameyuri could sweep large areas of enemies in an instant before cutting them down. By imbuing her blades with electricity, she could shoot lightning bolts with great accuracy and destroy entire landscapes in a single, shocking blow.
8 Lady Natsuhi Alone Completed Hoshigakure's Deadly Star Training
Lady Natusuhi was a kunoichi from Hoshigakure, and its only member to survive Hoshigakure's star training. Due to the threat posed by enduring the training, Natsuhi devoted her life to saving the village and destroying its star. She was killed by Akahoshi, Hoshigakure's interm leader, while protecting her son.
As the only living member to have completed the star training, Natushi was the strongest shinobi Hoshigakure ever produced. She could form gargantuan beasts made of indestructible chakra, sprout wings that enabled flight, and deflect all attacks thrown at her with ease. Her will was strong enough that her soul returned after death to aid Naruto in destroying Akahoshi.
7 Iwagakure Named Kurotsuchi Its Tsuchikage After Witnessing Her Strength During The War
Kurotsuchi was an Iwagakure kunoichi and granddaughter of the Third Tsuchikage. She joined the Shinobi Alliance to fight against Madara during the Fourth Shinobi War and was the right-hand woman to Kitsuchi, Second Division Commander. She was responsible for successfully sealing Reanimated Deidara during the war, as well as aiding in incapacitating the Ten-Tails.
Kurotsuchi could fly and use three Elemental Releases. She combined them to create Lava Style, which she used in two ways: she could create quicklime to harden around opponents like cement or expel ash to restrain opponents while burning them. She earned the reputation of facing down 1,000 White Zetsu without flinching, which earned her the title of Iwagakure's Fourth Tsuchikage.

Guren was an Otogakure kunoichi who possessed the unique kekkei genkai Crystal Release. She served Orochimaru loyally, wishing to become his vessel until meeting Yukimaru. Pakura was a renowned kunoichi during her lifetime and was referred to as the Hero of Sunagakure. She used a unique kekkei genkai to achieve fame across the Five Great Nations, but was ultimately betrayed by her own village after they sanctioned her death by Kirigakure ninja. She was reanimated by Kabuto Yakushi to fight against the Shinobi Alliance in the Fourth Ninja War.
Both alive and dead, Pakura's Scorch Release made her Sunagakure's most powerful kunoichi. She could use it to instantly evaporate all moisture in a target's body, simultaneously killing multiple people, or incinerate entire forests with a single blast. She was also extremely perceptive; she could instantly see through most deception and react accordingly with deadly precision.
4 Tsunade Invented Medical Ninjutsu & The Creation Rebirth Technique
Tsunade was the granddaughter of the First Hokage, a student of the Third Hokage, and later became the Fifth Hokage during her lifetime. She made up one-third of the Legendary Sannin, a three-man squad from Konohagakure renowned as the greatest ninja of their time. Alongside the other Kage, she fought against Madara Uchiha and successfully cracked his Susano'o armor.
After the Second Shinobi war, Tsunade was known as the world's strongest kunoichi. She single-handedly revolutionized medical ninjutsu after becoming its most accomplished practitioner; she created the three medical-nin laws that became common practice in all Five Great Nations. Tsunade later circumvented these laws by inventing her Creation Rebirth technique.

Sakura Haruno was Tsunade's student and a member of Team 7. She trained in medical ninjutsu, quickly mastering its accompanying techniques due to her superior chakra control. By using chakra to enhance her strength, Sakura could obliterate opponents and battlefields with one blow.
Under Tsunade's tutelage, Sakura was able to master and improve the Creation Rebirth technique. Her chakra was strong enough to summon one-third of Katsuyu from the Shikkotsu Forest and she became regarded as the greatest medical-nin in the entire world.

Konan was an Amegakure kunoichi and was one of the founding members of the Akatsuki. She served them faithfully as one of its strongest members. Konan used Paper Ninjutsu to create wings, form weapons, or asphyxiate her targets. Following Nagato's death, she assumed the position of Amegakure's leader until Obito Uchiha killed her in battle.
Konan's ability was so powerful she could create entire landscapes out of paper, including Amegakure Lake, which she rigged with six hundred billion explosive tags. She used this technique to kill Obito, forcing him to alter reality using Izanagi and undo his miserable defeat.

Kaguya Otosutsuki was an alien sent to Earth to cultivate the God Tree and harvest the Chakra Fruit. After betraying her partner Ishikki and eating the fruit herself, Kaguya birthed the first two humans capable of using chakra. After her desire for chakra deemed her a threat to the world, her two sons used Chibaku Tensei to seal Kaguya inside the moon.
Kaguya had all five Elemental Releases, Byakugan, Rinne Sharingan, and a kekkei mora unique to her race. Her base strength exceeded Madara's Ten-Tails jinchuriki form, and her speed exceeded Minato Namikaze's. She aborbed the Ten-Tails and nearly destroyed the world before being sealed by the combined efforts of Team 7.
