Together with Nuverse and Second Diner, Marvel recently released Marvel Snap. This card game, only available in digital format, allows people worldwide to battle through an app, using pre-made and personal decks. The point of Marvel Snap is to control two out of three locations on the board, using the cards and location effects to get more points.

Given that the locations are crucial to winning, fans of the game already have their favorites. Whether it is because they maximize the cards' effects or because they offer more tools to make points, these locations always make the Marvel Snap battles more thrilling.

10 Fogwell's Gym Gives Double Rewards In The End

entrance of fogwell's gym

A boxing gym on the Lower West Side of Manhattan, Fogwell's Gym was where Matt Murdock's father, Jack, trained. Although this place doesn't often appear in the comics, it's a core location in Daredevil's origin story. Especially during Matt's childhood, since he grew up admiring his father for his career as a boxer.

While most Marvel Snap locations affect the play-by-play inside the game, Fogwell's Gym influences the after-game results. Players get double the cubes as a reward if this location is in play. Since the whole point of the game is to move forward in the ranking, this double reward raises the stakes in the battle.

9 Nidavellir Adds +5 Power To Each Card In It

Simonson Nidavellir Comics

Nidavellir is one of the Ten Realms of Yggdrasill, the World Tree. Home of the Dwarves, this region is located at the same level as Midgard, but it exists in the same dimension as Asgard, Alfheim, and Vanaheim. Nidavellir's culture greatly focuses on weapon forging. For instance, the dwarves created Mjolnir, Stormbreaker, and Gungnir.

Marvel Snap's Nidavellir is quite a basic location. Each card that players put here earns extra 5 points. While this applies to both players, it's a great chance to take advantage of cards that summon other cards into the same location in order to multiply earnings. With this in mind, it will be an easy spot to conquer.

8 The Gamma Lab Gives Players Almost 50 Points

Originally an affable scientist working in a gamma lab, Bruce Banner got in the way of a blast of gamma rays that gave him a set of complicated powers. Thanks to this, he developed a new personality, the Hulk, a green, strong monster fueled by rage.

It makes perfect sense that Marvel Snap's Gamma Lab creates Hulks out of other cards. As one of the strongest characters in Marvel, Hulk has 11 power points with a 6-cost. Filling this location would grant the player 44 points, plus any extra from ongoing and on-reveal effects – a true hack for Marvel Snap.

7 The Nexus Gives Power To All Locations

An image of Man-Thing entering the Nexus of Reality in Marvel Comics

In 1972, Steve Gerber and Rich Buckler created the Nexus of All Realities. This place serves as a gateway in which anyone can find a pathway to any reality in the Multiverse. Marvel has never explained the Nexus' origin, but fans believe a supreme being created it as a point where all Earths cross paths.

Like its comic counterpart, the Nexus in Marvel Snap connects the three-game locations through their respective score. The power points of any card placed in this location will also be added to the other two locations, in addition to their respective points. Whenever the Nexus appears on the board, it's best to save the higher power cards to play them here.

6 Cloning Vats Gives Players Another Version Of An Already Played Card

Throughout Marvel's history, science fiction has been central to many storylines. Logically, since clones have always been a topic in sci-fi, many Marvel characters have ended up in cloning vats. Marvel Snap isn't an exception.

As a rule, a player can only have one card of a kind on his deck, but thanks to the Cloning Vats, it's possible to get a second one. This allows the player to enter a loop that lasts up to four turns. Using the Cloning Vats, a player can get four times the same card. If used with a truly powerful card, this could be the key to winning.

5 Project Pegasus Adds 5+ Energy In One Turn

project pegasus

Project Potential Energy Group, Alternate Sources, United States, aka Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S., was originally supposed to research alternative forms of energy. However, it became a prison for super-powered beings with energy-based powers. Located in the Adirondack Mountains, New York, it was also the headquarters of the Squadron Supreme.

As an energy-based location, Project Pegasus affects the number of energy of the turn in which it's revealed. Regardless of the moment in the game when it appears, it grants five extra energy points to each player. One of the most limiting dimensions of Marvel Snap is definitely the lack of energy in the first stages. Project Pegasus allows for more opportunities to play high-cost, high-reward cards.

4 Bar Sinister Allows To Create Powerful Loops

secret wars bar sinister

One of the most interesting domains of Battleworld is Bar Sinister, ruled by Mr. Sinister and his army of clones. Earth-616 also has a less overpowered version in the South Pacific, which Professor X and Magneto visited and then turned into a Krakoan biome.

Whenever a player puts a card at Bar Sinister, the location fills with new copies of that same card. Most characters' cards have ongoing or on-reveal abilities highly linked to the number of cards of a location. For example, Wolfsbane gets 1+ points for every card on its location. Combined with Bar Sinister, this card can start a power points loop. The same can be said of Blue Marvel or Angela.

3 Kamar-Taj Doubles On-Reveal Effects

kamar-taj: the city of the mystic arts

In his attempt to fix his crippled hands, Stephen Strange stumbled upon Kamar-Taj, a sanctuary/academy of mystical arts ruled by the Ancient One. In Kamar-Taj, Strange learns everything he needs to become an expert in sorcery. It was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko.

Marvel Snap's Kamar-Taj has a simple but powerful effect: any on-reveal card played in this location will display its effects twice, regardless of how overpowered these are. This means cards like Jessica Jones, which doubles its points upon use, would get twice more power. Additionally, if paired up with Odin (which also doubles on-reveal effects), this location is an asset for any strategy.

2 Onslaught Citadel Doubles Ongoing Effects

Onslaught speaking to Jean Grey in Marvel Comics

In X-Men #25, by Fabian Nicieza and Andy Kubert, Magneto almost killed Wolverine by reaping the Adamantium out of his bones. In response, Professor X tried to shut down Magneto's mind, but Magneto's intense emotions accessed Xavier's consciousness, creating a separate personality in his mind: Onslaught.

The Onslaught Citadel in Marvel Snap doubles any ongoing action for as long as a card remains there. If a player also adds Onslaught, an ongoing ability would happen at least four times. This works excellently to summon different cards into the board or to turn a few points into a dozen.

1 The Limbo Buys Players More Time For Their Strategy

limbo in marvel comics

Also known as Otherplace, Limbo is a hell-like dimension full of demons located in a pocket universe. Belasco originally ruled Limbo, but his apprentice, Magik, eventually overthrew him. The comics state that this Limbo isn't the same as the Catholic limbo or purgatory; instead is an extra-dimensional spot where laws are mostly magical.

Whenever Limbo appears on the board, the Marvel Snap battle automatically gets another turn. Even though fans like Marvel Snap's speed-oriented gameplay, some have criticized the lack of prep time for a full strategy. Limbo gives them an extra chance to better their strategy.
