The importance of a movie poster can go unnoticed, but a legendary poster can be as iconic as the film itself.

Captain America: Winter Soldier brought the MCU a lot of good things, including Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson. The movie also inadvertently brought collectors this sleek IMAX poster. It seems ordinary but the red and white colors and unique characters such as Black Widow and Nick Fury give this poster a red scare, espionage vibe to it.

The design could've worked for a modern James Bond movie. This incredible IMAX poster truly fits one of the best films of the Captain America series.

This is a poster that captures the dark and tormented world of Gotham City and the villains that inhabit it. The chalk-like outline added to the grittiness of the poster. The billboard is worthy of praise because it made Tom Hardy more terrifying than he actually was in the movie.

7 Deadpool's "Size Matters" Poster Fits the Humor Of The Film

The IMAX poster for Deadpool reflected the crass humor of the Weapon X assassin that fans know and love. The bottom of the poster, which features all of the characters that made a significant appearance in the film, reads the caption "size matters."

6 Logan's IMAX Poster Has A Western, Gunslinger Vibe To It

Logan & Professor X standing side-by-side

Like in most cases, the IMAX poster for Logan is better than the standard poster. Logan was a delightfully macabre tale of the beloved mutant's last chapter. If Clint Eastwood's "Man with No Name" was a mutant, it would be the character of Logan. The display for Logan conveyed that mentality with a gunslinger, western movie vibe.

The grainy feel and the surly sunset provide the ambiance of the formidable journey that Logan, Charles Xavier, and Logan's daughter, Laura, embark on.

5 Guardians Of The Galaxy Had The Nod Of Its Nostalgic Mood

Everyone loved James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy because it made them feel the nostalgia of seeing a sci-fi/adventure movie for the first time. The film also hit heavily on the nostalgia factor with its soundtrack, playing '60s and '70s classics such as "Hooked on a Feeling" and "Come and Get Your Love."

The IMAX poster caught this groovy essence with purple and pink coloring. The bottom of the poster also had a cassette tape, a nod to Quill's mixtape, with the title of the film. The IMAX poster, just like the movie, left viewers hooked on a special feeling.

4 Avengers: Endgame Showed The Stoicism Of The Beloved Heroes

By the time Avengers: Endgame came out, MCU fans were deep in their feelings. They had witnessed so much since the first Iron Man and Avengers movie that their excitement was also compounded with emotional depletion, especially after seeing Thanos' blip in Infinity War.

Endgame wrapped up the series in a tragic but victorious bow. The IMAX poster tapped into that spirit, as the exalted heroes stand stoically as if they're prepared for battle. It's simple, yet effective for the finale to arguably the best superhero franchise of all time.

3 Venom 2 Had The Perfect Image Of A Gruesome, Symbiote Battle

Carnage and Venom fighting

Eddie Brock versus Cletus Kasady is a match made in Venom fandom heaven. The Venom: Let There Be Carnage IMAX poster gave fans the grotesque entanglement of these two Symbiotes that they crave. There's a barbarity between these two aliens that makes it so enticing.

A reason why so many Venom enthusiasts were drawn to this poster is that it has a comic book feel to it. Images like this could be found in any comic book store across the country. This poster ranked so high because it's awesome. Any comic book nerd would geek out over it.

2 The Dark Knight's IMAX Poster Was Delightfully Chilling

Just like the Bane poster for The Dark Knight Rises, this image evoked the chilling aspects of Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker in The Dark Knight. The layout had many blood-splattered joker cards taped together to form the Caped Crusader's face. The jagged, gruesome cut on Batman's mouth is an unsettling acknowledgment to the Clown Prince of Crime.

The disfigured scar would come up through the film as Joker terrorized his victims. This billboard is what Batman fans desired to see on the silver screen. Dark and haunting, the poster looks more like a pin-up found in a serial killer's apartment rather than a billboard for a Hollywood movie.

1 Avengers: Infinity War Had An Eerie Foreshadowing of a Major MCU Event

Infinity War Imax

There should be no question that this is the best IMAX poster ever, at least in the MCU. There's no title needed for the IMAX poster that's unveiling the monumental MCU event that was Avengers: Infinity War. This display really does the job of foreshadowing the cataclysmic event known as the Blip, while advertising the epic IMAX experience.

Thanos already had the Space Stone and the Power Stone in the poster, which led fans to wonder what would happen if he had all three stones. Fans know now that this is a wink towards the fact that the universe is in Thanos' palm and the consequences are devastating. Such a powerful chapter of the Avengers franchise needed a powerful image, even if it was to engage an already dedicated fanbase.
