As the Chairman of the Hunter's Association in Hunter x Hunter, Isaac Netero's power is overshadowed only by his executioner, Meruem. He stands at the precipice of humanity, someone who is kind to his friends but also able to unleash devastating power on his enemies.RELATED: Hunter X Hunter: 5 Ways The Phantom Troupe Were Effective Villains (& 5 They Weren't)However, the Chairman's kindly smile belies prodigious darkness and maliciousness. During his fight against the King of Ants, Netero revealed that he wanted to battle an opponent impossibly stronger than he was, and ultimately, that's exactly what he found. To commemorate the character's sacrifice and complexity, many fans have taken it upon themselves to honor them with thrilling art worthy of his memory.

10 Watchful Eyes

The talented andraip presents a dignified Netero peering studiously at the viewer. He wears his traditionally long and flowing white robes, well contrasted with its indigo trim and headband.

One might notice in Netero's expression that he isn't smiling. This could be indicative of Isaac's insatiable thirst for a challenge as seen through his appointment of Pariston, despite knowing the latter's treacherous nature. The Chairman's inability to be without conflict sculpts him into the world's finest and most irascible hunter.

9 Darkness

Jieh You Koh emphasizes that while Netero may have lived a life of dignity and renown, his demise was ultimately less gracious. His features are half obscured in shadows, representing what the Hunter allowed others to perceive and what he locked away until his final moments.

Netero's large pupils are reminiscent of his withered form, the one which unleashed the bomb to spell Meruem's demise. No matter how great a specimen the King was or how many Royal Guards pledged their strength to his, the Ants were ultimately no match for the human spirit's endless capacity for evil.

8 Ascendant Of Heavens

Despite Netero's less than reputable intentions, he was radiant even in violence. Paul Quiroga emulates this in his stunning piece, combining golden and white streaks to properly convey the immense Nen energy radiating from his body.

Intriguingly, Netero's signature ability, his Guanyin Bodhisattva, can be seen in the background. This entails that the picture itself occurs during his final fight with Meruem, as it was the only time viewers saw him use it. The gracefulness of his motions exacerbates the King's crime of ripping him limb from limb, even if it was the only way to uncover the name his mother gave him.

7 Mess With The Best

Kuro_Lines reminds fans that despite Netero's confidence in his skill, he did not set out to the NGL alone. Along with him, he brought his two most trusted friends and confidants, Knov and Morel.

Though the former would be rendered hopelessly terrified just by encountering Neferpitou, the latter displayed remarkable resilience throughout the arc, even confronting Shaiapouf directly despite being physically and emotionally exhausted. Their company was a pleasant reminder that no matter how powerful one gets, friendship is the truest strength of all.

6 Say Your Prayers

Abdirahman Mohamud demonstrates that as much as Netero enjoyed combat, he spent much of his time praying and meditating. He was so efficient at it that he could even remain still for several seasons, serene and immovable enough that birds began to perch on his arms and head.

Authentic to the character's duality, this was as much a weapon of war as it was a salve for the spirit. Without the strength he had gathered beforehand, Netero would not have done nearly as well against the King as he had.

5 Put Your Hands Together For...

TheObliviousOwl presents a Netero ready for combat. Abandoning his graceful, silky robes for his shirt and shorts, this Isaac has pressed his hands together for a single purpose; to command the construct behind him.

Through the connection of his palms, Isaac is able to unleash countless blows against his opponents and swat them out of the sky no matter how alarming their speed might be. It is limited only by his reflexes, and given the considerable reach of his arm, he can begin to thwart his opponents' attacks even as they're still planning them.

4 Final Faceoff

Netero's fate is bound to Meruem's for more than his desire to seek a challenge or his status as the Chairman of the Hunter's Association. He is the only man alive physically capable of defeating him, arguably greater than Gon even at his peak (as the latter would be forced to defeat the King under time constraints).

KARIM-KJ depicts the inevitability of their duel, juxtaposing Meruem's malice with Isaac's austerity. Ironically, this would betray their feelings toward the pending battle, as Meruem was reluctant to fight the Chairman, only coaxed into the fray by Netero's promise to reveal his name if he is successful.

3 A Legendary Battle

Though their battle occurred entirely within the confines of a single crypt, it took both participants to a certain euphoria; a zenith where Earth fell away and in its place were a gallery of planets and stars.

Amanomoon masterfully captures this artistic decision through their work, doing justice both to the confrontation and the exaggerated, surreal background that made the fight legendary. It exemplified that the combatants were in a league of their own, far surpassing their human and Chimera Ant constituents.

2 Focus

ArtofLG conveys another powerful image, using a stoic black and white color scheme to draw attention to the Chairman's most iconic and notable features. His steely, uncompromising gaze and facial hair are particularly of note, especially through the natural curvature of his bushy eyebrows.

This iteration of Netero assumes a more realistic design than his anime counterpart, a feasible sketch as to what he might look like if he were a real person. From what is seen of his outfit, Netero's austerity is likely on account of the fact he is about to face the most deadly force on the entire planet and knows he won't return alive.

1 Bottomless Malice

DatboiMg focuses on the conclusion of Netero's life. All that remained of his body was a shriveled husk, and all that was left in his heart was an unrepentant hatred for his enemy.

With his features distorted and his jaw gaped open, Netero would unleash a final devastating explosion, irreparably poisoning Meruem and sealing his fate. Isaac may have wanted a challenge too great for him to overcome, though it did not mean he intended to let his opponent live, either. His final act was invariably one of hatred just as much as it was selflessness.
