House of the Dragon has shown Rhaenyra in dragonriding gear, covered in blood, and dressed for her wedding feast. Through all of it, her style ranges from subtle to extravagant.

It may seem like a lack of consistency, but it actually shows Rhaenyra's ability to dress appropriately for different occasions. For example, her simpler outfit during Aegon's second name day allowed her wedding dress to stand out more.
