Disney Channel is known for creating shows that connect with audiences of all ages. Many of the shows on the Disney Channel have been so beloved that when they ended, fans were distraught. Some Disney Channel shows have been canceled because the actors in them aged out of the demographic that Disney Channel tries to appeal to.

Other shows the network has felt ran their course and had no more story to tell, despite fans trying to keep the shows going for another season or more. Disney Channel had strange rules surrounding many of their shows, limiting their time on the air. Disney has changed this policy, but it hasn't left fans without disappointments.

10 The Owl House (2020–2023)

The Owl House has been praised for representing LGBTQ+ identities and unique storylines like nothing the Disney Channel had aired before. Fans were devastated to learn that The Owl House had been canceled after two full-length seasons and a shortened third season with 3 specials that ran for 44 minutes.

Several reasons for The Owl House being canceled include the pandemic and Disney not finding the series family-friendly enough for the brand. Regardless of the reason, fans of The Owl House wanted the show to continue forever and wanted more than a shortened third season.

9 Sonny With A Chance (2009–2011)

Sonny With A Chance was Disney Channel's attempt at launching Demi Lovato into super stardom after the success of Camp Rock. After two seasons, Sonny With A Chance was renewed for a third season. Still, Demii Lovato entered treatment for drug addiction and an eating disorder before the show could finish, as reported by People.

This left Disney Channel with a romance that ended too soon, and fans were hoping the network would bring Lovato back to give the show a proper send-off. Even though Sonny With A Chance created the spin-off So Random, the sketch show didn't have the same charm that Sonny With A Chance had.

8 So Random (2011–2012)

So Random was the spin-off comedy sketch show of Sonny With A Chance. The series was similar to Saturday Night Live with musical guests and hosts, but the sketches were based on physical comedy and jokes that were topical to what children were interested in at the time. Like other sketch shows, fans of So Random felt the show could keep running with a rotating cast, but Disney Channel didn't see the potential.

So Random also helped boost the career of other Disney stars featured as guest hosts and musical guests. After one season, Disney Channel ended So Random and the Sonny With A Chance universe.

7 Kim Possible (2002–2007)

Kim Possible was one of Disney's most unique shows, with a cast of villains darker than other Disney Channel characters. The show followed Kim and her best friend Ron as they stopped villains from taking over the world in weird and creative ways. Kim Possible was a hit with viewers and continued to be popular throughout the four seasons and two Disney Channel Original movies that made up the show.

While Kim Possible was the longest-running Disney Channel show at the time, fans wanted more from Kim. Kim Possible could have carried on into Kim's college years, so fans could see her try and balance her new life with the old, but Disney felt the show had run its course.

6 American Dragon Jake Long (2005–2007)

American Dragon Jake Long experimented with a new animation style that hadn't been on Disney Channel when it aired. The show featured Jake Long, who could turn into a dragon and was training with his grandfather, who had the same power, to be the hero the world needed while trying to be a typical teenager. American Dragon Jake Long only reached 55 episodes before it was canceled.

Unlike other shows, Disney didn't explain why the show ended, and it didn't get a proper final episode. Fans wanted to see Jake complete his training and become a hero that would protect his family and friends from evil villains.

5 Hannah Montana (2006–2011)

Hannah Montana was one of the best live-action kids' shows of the 2000s. After the Hannah Montana movie was released in theaters, fans thought the show would end since Miley Stewart's double life was revealed to the public. But Disney chose to keep the show running for another season that would follow Miley in her senior year of high school and eventually reveal her identity again.

Many fans felt the show could have continued with Miley going to college and how she would balance being an international superstar with her classes. One more season of the show would have let fans see the consequences of Miley's big reveal and if her life would ever be normal.

4 Lizzie McGuire (2001–2004)

Lizzie McGuire ended with the theatrical release of The Lizzie McGuire Movie, which saw Lizzie become an Italian pop star before returning to her everyday life, but fans of the show never saw the consequences of Lizzie's trip to Italy, as the show never continued.

Fans were left with many questions as The Lizzie McGuire Movie ended with a cliffhanger. For example, they never learned what became of Lizzie and her best friend Gordo, who she kissed at the end of the film. By not showing viewers what happened after The Lizzie McGuire Movie, fans felt the show deserved another season and was canceled too soon.

3 Lilo & Stitch The Series (2003–2006)

Lilo & Stitch The Series was the follow-up series to the first Lilo & Stitch movie. The series followed the titular characters as they tried to find homes for all of Stitch's experiment cousins running wild in Hawaii. With Stitch being Experiment 626, viewers expected at least 100 episodes showing the cousins finding a new place to live.

However, Disney Channel had a strict rule of their shows only running for 65 episodes, and Lilo & Stitch The Series was no exception. Disney would release two more Lilo & Stitch movies to round off the series, but fans were invested in the new cousins and wanted to see them be adopted into new homes and jobs. With so many unadopted experiments, Disney Channel could have let the show run for several seasons.

2 My Babysitter's A Vampire (2011–2012)

My Babysitter's A Vampire leaned into the spookier side of Disney Channel. The show was a spin-off of a movie of the same name. My Babysitter's A Vampire ran for two seasons before it was canceled without explanation from Disney Channel executives.

Ratings for the show were low; some of this is probably because the show was too scary for younger audiences. The third season was highly anticipated and wanted by My Babysitter's A Vampire fans, but no more seasons were produced. Many storylines were left unfinished, much to fans' dismay.

1 Wizards Of Waverly Place (2007–2012)

Wizards Of Waverly Place was one of Disney Channel's most popular shows and starred one of Disney's most successful stars, Selena Gomez. Wizards Of Waverly had a built-in ending with the Russo kids training to see who would become the family wizard. But fans still weren't happy when the show ended with Gomez's character, Alex, getting to keep her wizard powers.

Fans wanted to see at least one season of Alex dealing with her new-found responsibilities and the trouble she would get into. Even though the show ended satisfactorily, Selena Gomez's popularity made fans want the show to continue.
