This intriguing couch coop cooking game allows you and your friends to run a smooth kitchen by preparing dishes and serving them up against a clock. It’s not always a case of the more the merrier, though, with too many players potentially creating mayhem. It’s one of the less conventional coop games yet it carries loads of fun.

The game is set in the Onion Kingdom which faces an attack from Ever Peckish, a ginormous spaghetti and meatballs monster with an insatiable appetite. The king, a full mustache onion with his dog Kevin takes you back in time so you can sharpen your cooking (and coop) skills before facing the monster again. You have to fulfill orders in a variety of kitchens scattered across the land, each with its own testing layouts and gimmicks.

The gameplay, while seeming deceptively simple, moves at a swift pace. The orders appear on the top left of your screen and you must then prepare the corresponding ingredients, assemble them on a plate and serve it. Faster food delivery could mean more tips while failing to serve will lose you points.

Overcooked demands a high level of coordination and that’s what makes it such an amazing coop game. You have to coordinate how you’ll switch between two chefs to juggle the vast number of tasks. However, part of the fun comes in the chaos - when someone leaves the food on the fire for too long which then spreads all over the kitchen. The game can get a bit frustrating but greater still carries lots of fun.

Demanding platforms and punishing challenges make Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy a great modern game, with each subsequent installment feeling as fresh as its predecessors. Explore the open world for gems, crystals and a bunch of relics for an immersive experience. The game builds on subsequent foundations to deliver an impeccable gaming experience.

Futuristic cityscapes, dazzling water, and fire effects, and lush foliage give the game a great visual appeal. The game’s villains now have better tells meaning you won’t end up overly frustrated trying to destroy them. This remake improves on design aspects and sound as well, making the gaming experience a lot more thrilling.

The soundtrack blends seamlessly into the gameplay, enhancing the thrill of the game. The way Crash’s footsteps change from concrete to sand bring the levels to life in a unique way. The game offers a nice blend of core missions and extra objectives with death routes, secret levels, and extra gems all adding to the fun of the game.

Crash also features an upgraded arsenal allowing you to play for longer through more difficult levels. Aside from his improved arsenal, Crash can perform a whole bunch of tricks including extended spin attacks and double jumps. A wumpa fruit rocket makes collecting additional gems a breeze. Encounter more challenging levels as Warped switches things up especially with vehicle levels. The trilogy, more so the latter two, undoubtedly deliver great gaming experiences.

Everybody's Golf serves as both a rewarding and motivating game. The game reverts to the Japanese series’ name and captures the strategic demands of the sport. You get to experience the myriad of variables that pros face when lining up a shot. Wind speed and direction, choice of club, and yardage are all factors you need to consider while playing. You'll soon come to understand that hitting a shot is a result of a variety of calculated ingredients.

The game features a classic three-click swing mechanic where you click to start, click to set power, and a final click to determine your shot’s accuracy. It’s a matter of mastering your desired mater length and the reflexes you can pull off. This method of control is common among contemporary golf games and adds to the challenge of finding the hole.

To protect your stuff, liaise with a functional and robust tribe of players who’ll help you protect your stuff. In offline mode, playing the game can prove to be hard, if you fail, you have to replay, and this will ultimately cost you artifacts needed to summon the boss and time.

The eight-story chapters rehash The Lego Ninjago Movie. The story revolves around green ninja Lloyd and his ninja companions, who are defenders of Ninjago City.

The Lord Garmadon, Lloyd’s dad, and his army of aquatic-themed mechs and thugs terrorize Ninjago City. And it is Lloyd’s responsibility to defeat his dad. Eager to beat his dad and restore peace in Ninjago City, Lloyd messes up and puts the whole city in danger. The only way to save his city is by partaking a spiritual journey to the heart of the island to gain his spiritual power and save his city.

The combat system in the game is not minimalistic, and given that its release date coincided with the movie release date, the game went overboard in that. The Lego Ninjago Video game is less floaty and more finesse. Its enthralling experience stems from their enemies getting wiser per every challenge. Therefore, players have to mix things up to wade through.

As you progress with the game, the combat features offer more fun. Unlike other Lego Series Games, each level has no stud goal to achieve. Having done away with stud collecting means that players can play the game with minimal distractions. Instead of a per-level stud meter, a multi-leveled meter follows the player throughout the game. Every time you fill the meter, you gain a stud-collecting rank.

The game offers many ways you can advance through the environments while also offering 14 different weapon types that make combat feel truly immersive. Post-game content changes some monsters and adds new ones which essentially doubles the amount of gear on offer.

Watch Dogs 2 is an evolution of what the first installment had to offer. The game achieves a great mix of action, stealth, and puzzle gameplay together with useful remote-control drones. The mission designs are open, offering multiple ways to reach objectives and find some amazing toys.

Hacking is another useful feature you could use to get in and out of tricky situations. You could also detonate an electric box to stun nearby pedestrians or use it to attract attention while you make a swift escape.

The Bay Area is a fun place to explore with a list of sites you could visit. Cars feel more controllable with the gameplay allowing you to hack cars and control them at will. Button prompts trigger explosions allowing you to automatically eliminate your pursers with ease. Outside of combat, the game offers a huge emphasis on environmental puzzle solving that should keep you occupied for hours on end.

Games Lego City Undercover is a content-rich and colorful open-world crime-fighting game that offers an immersive gaming experience. The game’s protagonist, Chase McCain, is tasked with taking out bad guy Rex Fury through the large hub that is Lego City. The game is inadvertently aimed at a younger audience but a more mature audience could still play and enjoy.

The game focuses more on the world of Lego rather than the movie adaptation allowing the game to find its own voice in a sense. There are a bunch of witty catchphrases throughout the game that add to the fun factor of the game. The gameplay offers tons of collectibles that make the game more fun.

Lego games always offer huge replay value and Lego City Undercover is no exception. A lot of areas are blocked off with lots of collectibles just out of reach. To collect them, you’ll need to play through the main game and unlock a bunch of ability types before you can return later.

In-game features such as super bricks help you build constructions throughout the city and are the main collectible. Get rewarded for completing certain tasks and also go around collecting vehicles and any one of the 300 costumes. Even after completing the game’s main mission, there’s plenty of stuff to unlock and loads more discover. Coop gameplay allows older players can step in and help out younger players if things get too hard.

Knack was too punitive for a kids’ game. However, its sequel Knack 2 has proven to be the ideal game for all ages. Knack 2 has a solid mix of gameplay elements anchored by fun combat and good pacing. Knack, the leading game character, still maintains his core abilities in this sequel.

Similar to the last game, Knack can gain an armor-like shell made up of different materials. One of these materials is ice, ice Knack can freeze enemies on the spot, and can also lock gears in place. To top it all, shifting back to small Knack in any of his forms lets you leave behind a statue to weigh down switches.

The checkpointing of this Co-op game is generous. In that, if you miss a jump or get killed in combat, you’re only moments away from where you died. Generally, it means the frustration levels are low, and the standard difficulty levels provide minor challenges.

To add to its robust combat system is a neat touch of ability to stun enemies whenever you shatter a sunstone. As you progress, more combat capabilities emerge making the game more complex.

The game also decides when and how to use these abilities, making it engaging. In a nutshell, Knack 2 provides you with a well-paced action platform with puzzle elements and the ability to progress in the game continually. An enthralling gaming experience it is.

Ghostbusters: The Video Game takes place in 1991, two years after the whole Ghostbusters II. As the story begins, a museum exhibit on Gozer the Gozerian sends out a pulse of energy. This pulse of power brings a massive influx of new and old ghosts back to New York City. Gracie Mansion subsidizes the mayhem allowing the heroes to seek further help from you, the player.

As a player, you’ll be testing out some of Egon’s experimental gear while helping in cleaning up the town. It allows you to switch to a female character, and its graphics and resolutions are top-notch. The detailing in the game should not be overlooked, as the game developer shows the utmost commitment to detail.

Most instructions of the game are verbal with the health, weapon heat level getting displayed on the Rookie’s Proton Pack, à la Dead Space. And to successfully trap ghosts, you need to wrangle them towards your trap, close enough to suck them in. The game graphics work by rehashing the movie scenes via sizzling red proton streams and the cone of intense light drawing in ghosts that distort and stretch ghosts as they’re slurped into the trap.

Also, most of the cutscenes are in-engine ones and often displayed at up to 4K, therefore matching the moment-to-moment gameplay. The levels, however, are long, and the lip-syncing is shoddily done just like in the 2009 version. Overall the game is aesthetically good with further remastering needed.

Like the Dark Souls games that came before it, as well as Bloodborne, Dark Souls III is an amazingly intense RPG featuring tens of insanely difficult boss fights, hair-pulling-ly tough enemies, and a fascinating (but deadly) world to explore. And also like the previous Dark Souls games, Dark Souls III includes a co-op multiplayer mode that isn’t to be missed.

Unlike the majority of co-op titles, Dark Souls III isn’t as cut-and-dry as selecting an option from the main menu to start up a co-op session. Rather cooperative play takes place fairly seamlessly, allowing one player to head straight into another’s game, where they then can take down bosses and fight baddies together. And given the sheer difficulty of some sections of Dark Souls III, you’ll often need that helping hand. From start to finish, there are a plethora of bosses that can handily take you down, so having a friend there to help you out almost feels like a necessity at times.

While many Dark Souls players have spent their hours defeating bosses on their lonesome, Dark Souls III is just as great a co-op experience as any, and better than most due to the utter brutality of late-game bosses. So if you’re looking for one of the best co-op games for PS4, look no further than Dark Souls III.

Cooperative play doesn’t exactly come front and center when it comes to Grand Theft Auto games. Most of the titles have been single-player, placing a focus on causing chaos as a ne’erdowell whose primary interests lie in harming innocent civilians, hijacking vehicles, and making tons of money via precarious means. And while Grand Theft Auto V definitely has its share of that, and then some, it also launched the hugely popular Grand Theft Auto Online, which GTA developer Rockstar routinely updates to this day.

Although a lot of Grand Theft Auto Online involves wacky hijinks and a fair share of solo play, there is plenty of fun to be had in a cooperative capacity. In addition to straight-up wreaking havoc on the city of Los Santos with other players, one of the highlights of Grand Theft Auto Online is the ability to pull off heists with other players. During heists, for which there is a set plan in motion, each player takes a particular role within said plan. As a general rule, your job is to adhere to that role as closely as possible, though if things go south, you will need to improvise.

Overall, these heists—of which there are several—are a ton of fun and earn Grand Theft Auto Online a “cooperative” descriptor on their own. As such, so long as you can tolerate some level of GTA Online shenanigans involving spontaneous death by gunfire, it is quite easily one of the better choices for cooperative games on PS4.
