Across its many seasons and various iterations, Digimon has taken on a lot of different ideas and approaches to their stories and characters. One thing that's remained consistent across all of them has been the action. With each new season, viewers watch as new Digimon progressively get new forms, and with them, some interesting and action-packed monster battles.

Some come towards the end of the season and the movies have had some real hits in there too. Regardless, whether they're in the real world or the Digital World, the best of Digimon's fight scenes have been nothing short of huge, dramatic, and even intense.

10 Greymon's Fight With Parrotmon Is Short But Sweet

Giant Dinosaur And Giant Parrot Fight In The City

Digimon's first movie (or the first segment of the movie in the US release) featured a young Tai and Kari finding a Digi-Egg that hatches a Botamon. Eventually, that Botamon Digivolves all the way up to Greymon to fight a hostile Parrotmon in the middle of the city, with the children left to watch as two giant monsters duke it out.

At first, Greymon seems to be out for the count, but after a quick wake-up call from Kari's whistle, he gets his second wind and blasts Parrotmon to dust. It ends up being a pretty short flight, but one that's as energized as it is well-animated.

9 The Digidestined Reunite To Fight A Horde Kuwagamon

The Digidestined Reuinite, Digimon Adventure Tri

Digimon Adventure Tri sees the original Digidestined come back together years later to face a new threat facing both their world and the digital one. The action starts when Tai runs into a Kuwagamon in the city and soon reunites with Agumon to fight it, which spans both worlds as the battle rages.

While Greymon ends up taking a beating before more of Kuwagamon's friends show up, the day's saved when the rest of the Digidestined (save for Joe and Mimi) join Tai to fight them off. It's a nice fight that reintroduces the Digidestined while showing how far they've come since the original Digimon Adventure.

8 The Tamers Fight Tooth & Nail Against The D-Reaper

Anime D-Reaper, Digimon Tamers

The Digimon franchise has had quite a few powerful and intimidating villains over the years, but none might be more terrifying than the destructive and mindless D-Reaper from Digimon Tamers. This living virus' only instincts are to consume everything in its path, human and Digimon alike, so the Tamers really had to put their all into defeating it and rescuing Jeri.

What makes this fight stand out from the rest is that the enemy wasn't so much a villain with a plan — it was more like an uncontrollable force of nature. This was also the battle where Takato and Guilmon fused with Grani to achieve their strongest form, Gallantmon Crimson Mode.

7 Omnimon & Alphamon's Duel Is Nothing Short Of Exciting

Alphamon vs. Omnimon, Digimon Adventure Tri

Another big standout battle for Digimon Adventure Tri was Omnimon returning to combat Alphamon. With the black-armored Royal Knight Digimon on the attack and making quick work of the other Digidestined, Tai and Matt come together to fight him, having both Agumon and Gabumon rush through their evolutions until they fuse into Omnimon.

With the two Mega Digimon fighting on equal footing, Omnimon pushes Alphamon to start fighting at his best. While the fight ends in a draw, the sheer power that both Digimon are working with could be felt in the air itself.

6 WarGreymon & Imperialdramon Team Up Against Black WarGreymon

BlackWarGreymon with Agumon, Veemon, and Wormmon, Digimon Adventure 02

The new Digidestined in Digimon Adventure 02 met their match when Black WarGreymon appeared on the scene, knocking even their fused Digimon around like nothing. For a time, however, it seemed like there was a heart underneath that armor. Unfortunately, he and WarGreymon came to blows.

The battle starts out with WarGreymon trying to talk his darker counterpart down, but it's clear that he's not willing to listen. Eventually, Imperialdramon arrives to lend WarGreymon the assistance he needs to defeat and reason with BlackWarGreymon.

5 ShineGreymon's Battle With Argomon Is Epic & Huge

ShineGreymon vs. Argomon, Digimon Data Squad Movie

The Digimon Savers movie mostly sees Agumon and his fellow Digimon cut off from Digivolving and forced to save the day from Argomon by themselves. Despite being outmatched, Agumon's able to stand his ground and force Argomon into his Mega form. Fortunately, Marcus is able to reunite with his partner and Agumon's able to Digivolve into ShineGreymon and begin the real fight against Argomon.

The two colossal Digimon fight and while ShineGreymon gets knocked around in his normal form, he gets his second wind while in Burst Mode, stopping Argomon once and for all. It's a battle as epic as it was huge.

4 Omnimon Is Born For The First Time & Wrecks Diaboromon

Omnimon is born, Digimon Movie

A fusion of WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon, Omnimon is undoubtedly the strongest Digimon of the original Digimon Adventure crew and his first appearance is nothing short of epic. With the real world in peril, WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon try to fight the horde of Diaboromon clones but are practically torn to pieces.

Thanks to Tai, Matt, and all those watching the battle, the two Digimon are able to fuse into Omnimon for the first time. Without breaking a sweat, Omnimon takes out the clones and races to end the real Diaboromon. Omnimon finishes him off with mere seconds to spare, making it an amazing and heart-pounding first battle.

3 Gallantmon Vs. Beelzemon Is Absolutely Intense

Anime Gallantmon vs. Beelzemon, Digimon Tamers

Digimon Tamers cemented itself as one of the more intense entries of the Digimon franchise. One of the most heartbreaking and memorable moments occurs when Beelzemon killed Leomon right in front of Jeri. An enraged Takato forces Guilmon to Digivolve into the vicious Megidramon before snapping to his senses and Biomerging to achieve a new Mega form, Gallantmon.

Despite being evenly matched, this battle ends up being a tough one for Gallantmon, as Beelzemon's willing to fight dirty and attack the onlookers. Eventually, Gallantmon's able to overpower Beelzemon. With his anger still running hot, Takato almost finishes him for good, but ultimately spares him upon Jeri's request.

2 Light & Darkness Clash With Susanoomon Vs. Lucemon

Susanoomon, Digimon Frontier

There are plenty of final battles in Digimon where the heroes take everything they've gained on their adventures and bring it all together to become more powerful than ever, but few can compare to Digimon Frontier's ultimate fusion of Legendary Warriors, Susanoomon. After the Digidestined spent so long being beaten by Lucemon, Susanoomon returns the favor and goes on to easily knock around the Demon Lord Digimon.

Things get even more hectic once Lucemon enters his Shadow Lord Mode, but with their strong resolve, the Digidestined are able to end Lucemon once and for all. With both worlds on the line and the Digital World coming apart at the seams, this fight was worthy of being the season's grand finale.

1 Digimon's Legendary Heroes Come Together To Fight An Army Of Myotismon

Digimon's Legendary Heroes Team Up, Digimon Xros Wars

Fans could spend all day picking the best fights of Digimon's long history, and while each individual season has at least one battle that sees its heroes at their best, only Xros Wars was able to bring all of its main heroes together in one ultimate fight. To defeat Quartzmon and its army of Myotismon, Mikey calls on some help from beyond time and space. Fortunately, the cavalry arrives in spades.

The main characters from the previous seasons up till Xros Wars arrives and with their strongest Digimon forms in tow, they lay waste to the Myotismon army. It's one legendary brawl that has to be seen to be believed.
