Everyone loves a bad boy, even more so when they operate on the fine line between good and evil. Anti-heroes in comic books are often some of the most relatable and well-loved characters, combine that with a cheeky grin or strong cheekbones, and many fans become head over heels for a man with questionable morals.

Both Marvel and DC are littered with men who have hordes of fans obsessing over them. These are definitely not men you could bring home to your parents, but who cares about that when instead you get tale after tale of morally grey adventures.

8 Gambit

Gambit-feature-1

Long time rogue, thief, and eventual X-Man, Gambit is a much-loved character in Marvel's pages. Gambit has often played both sides, usually to meet his own desires, and very often leaving people in the wake of his success. He has had numerous interests since his first appearance in Uncanny X-Men #266, but Rogue continues to be his closest companion. Is anyone surprised though? That accent is enough to whoo any potential love interest.

Despite his lothario like temperament, Gambit's swagger and bravado is a smokescreen for his true feelings. In Wolverine and the X-Men, he courts Polaris as a means to an end. But this certainly isn't the case with Rogue. She challenges him to be the best Mutant he can be, and as a result, he can't stay away.

7 John Constantine

John Constantine Hellblazer Mars of Woe

There is no one in the DC universe with more swagger and bad-boy charm than John Constantine. This smooth-talking magician has done everything in the bad-boy playbook, from betraying his friends to selling his literal soul. Despite his misgivings, both fans and other characters alike cannot get enough of the trench coat wielding sorcerer.

He has had countless love interests over the years, but most notably is not his fling with King Shark, but fellow sorceress and Justice League Dark member Zatanna. Although their mutual love is evident, Constantine's inflated ego and self-serving motivations tend to obstruct anything substantial from happening.

6 Deadpool

Deadpool has been a fan-favorite for decades. His quick-witted personality and indestructible body have resulted in some of the most highly regarded moments in Marvel history. The 2016 live-action film, with Ryan Reynolds portraying the masked vigilante, has since amassed thousands of fans.

The Merc with a Mouth does not really serve a side besides his own. He has helped the Avengers and the X-Men but also isn't afraid to do pretty disturbing things. This bad-boy has something for bad-girls as well, having been proven with his marriage to Satana Hellstrom, and confirmed again by his fling with Dracula's bride to be Shiklah.

5 Wolverine

wolverine

As one of the most popular characters in Marvel history, Wolverine has served on multiple X-Men teams, as well as the Avengers. Though he fights on the side of good, Logan pushes the boundaries of what it means to be a hero. His gruff, cigar-smoking image, combined with Hugh Jackman's portrayal, had painted Wolverine as one of the biggest marvel heartthrobs.

He is a famous ladies man, though most of his love interest tend to die. In the Dawn of X relaunch, Logan seems to be in a polyamorous relationship with Cyclops and Jean Grey, making up for the years of Logan knowingly conducting an affair behind his friends back. So perhaps he isn't bad, just morally problematic.

4 Red Hood

Jason Todd was once Robin after Dick Grayson moved on to become Nightwing. He was killed by the Joker but later resurrected by Batman's love interest Talia Al Ghul. Since his miraculous return to life, Todd has had a more direct method of dealing with crime, and of course, this direct method is completely unhindered murder.

He is still very much part of the dysfunctional Bat-family, but usually adopts bloodier methods than the rest of his cape-wearing siblings. He is a brutal fighter and expert marksman, but his real prowess comes in his lack of emotions, which might be overcome in his pursuit of Batgirl.

3 Guy Gardner

The Green Lanterns are essentially the space police, with each of them taking up a specific sector as their area to protect. Guy Gardner is one of the Earth's lanterns because apparently, one planet needs multiple highly powered protectors.

Gardner is a confident, somewhat cocky Lantern who is prone to comical quips and sarcastic remarks. Though he is probably the straightest shooter on this list, he isn't without his bad boy moments. So much so that he has had more than enough experience with the Red Lantern rings, even adorning Atroscitus's for some time.

2 Quicksilver

It comes as no surprise that this apple hasn't fallen far from the tree. Similarly to his father, Quicksilver has been both friend and foe, though he has served on the side of good for most of recent history. That isn't to say that this speedster isn't used to playing both sides, nor is he unfamiliar to betraying those close to him.

He may have fast legs, but he also has a quick mouth, which he isn't afraid to use. He stole Crystal from the Human Torch and even claimed he was abducted by the Skrulls to move on from his past mistakes. The Dashing speedster is pretty easy on the eyes too, which more than makes up for some of his less heroic deeds.

1 Lobo

Superman-Man-of-Tomorrow-Lobo

With dreadlocks, huge muscles, and a foul mouth, it does not require much explaining when rationalizing Lobo's place on this list. He wiped the rest of his people from existence, as only members of his species can kill one another. Naturally, Lobo could not have any threat to himself, so he destroyed any potential danger.

Lobo may be more villain than bad-boy, but his few heroic endeavors do paint him as a complicated character with many functional levels. He defeated Kalibak with ease and essentially saved Metropolis from destruction, which by no means redeems him, but it certainly makes it easier to love him.
