The best part is that the comedies of these past ten years have been a very diverse bunch, delivering the gags in a multitude of different ways. To celebrate this we're taking a look at IMDb to find the top 10 comedies of the decade according to them. If you need a good laugh you'll want to check out one of these listed series.

10 THE DISASTROUS LIFE OF SAIKI K. 8.3

If you think your life is tiresome, then try stepping into the shoes of Saiki Kusou. He has the psychic powers of a god and can basically alter reality at will. Despite that, he just wants to live a natural life unbothered by the extraordinary. Too bad his friends, family, and just about everything and everyone around him are the living embodiment of those two things he wants to stay away from.

The Disastrous Life of Saiki Kis easily one of the funniest anime of the decade, and to many, it is the funniest. The art and animation lend themselves to its humor flawlessly and the comedic timing in this one is perfect.

9 FRUITS BASKET 8.3

This is a classic tale of a young girl moving out on her own to deal with the world solo after a family tragedy. Tohru Honda decides to make her own way and make a place of her own in a tent on a mysterious plot of private land. Fruits Basket is one of those anime that will have you laughing every bit of the way while following the plot. Highly recommended to anyone that loves character chemistry driven humor.

8 MONOGATARI SERIES: SEASON TWO 8.4

The Monogatari series is one that isn't all comedy, to be honest. In fact, it can be argued that this anime has some darker themes and tones above being aimed towards comedic value. However, when comedy is the focus of Monogatari it's nothing to sleep on, nor does it feel like an afterthought. The way the comedy is melded into the story and its dark themes, however, is just about perfect.

While many of the character arcs start off full of comedy it's kind of hard to simply call this one a comedy anime. It's hard to categorize this one in any single genre, to be honest.

7 YURI!!! ON ICE 8.4

frozen yuri funny

There are few things that can be separated on this planet. Peanut butter and jelly, cheese and burgers, the list goes on. Sports anime and good comedy are a part of said list and Yuri!!! On Ice is no slouch when it comes to this front. While the anime may seem serious and focused on the character-driven stories, it definitely doesn't go without its hilarious moments.

The best part about the gags featured in this anime is how natural it all comes off as. Not to mention it has its own special charm to go with this hilarity.

6 DRAGON BALL SUPER 8.4

If you've ever followed anything Dragon Ball you'll know it's just as much about the comedic aspects as it is the fighting. That's the basic shonen formula it helped pioneer after all right? Anyways Dragon Ball Super is the long-awaited canon sequel to the Dragon Ball Z series and it keeps traditions going by continuing that special brand of Akira Toriyama humor prevalent, even ina new era.

Each character is just as funny as ever and the character chemistry is probably even better than it was in Z. Give this one a good shot.

5 MY HERO ACADEMIA 8.5

With a show as bright and colorful as My Hero Academia there is no way anyone jumped into it without thinking there were going to be some laugh out loud moments in store. If they did they were dead wrong because this is definitely one of the funniest anime of the year.

With so many different characters, the humor in this one takes many different forms, which is a plus because if one joke falls flat another will be sure to tickle your fancy. Trust us when we say, you'll be laughing as early as episode one.

4 HAIKYUU!! 8.6

Remember when we said sports anime and comedy go together like peanut butter and jelly? That goes double for Haikyuu!!, as it is easily one of the best series of the year when it comes to humor. We really have to give the spotlight to the characters Ryūnosuke Tanaka and Nishinoya Yuu, one of the best comedy duos introduced in this decade of anime.

That is no exaggeration by any means. Those that have watched Haikyuu!! know exactly what we mean, and to those that decide to jump in, you will learn.

3 SHIN CHAN 8.6

Shin Chan recently received a new English dub and with a new English dub came a new 2015 rerelease of everyone's favorite anime kid that talks a little too old for his age. What's there to say about the comedy of Shin Chan that hasn't already been said. It's a series as old as time and is one of the most well-known comedy anime out there.

Seriously, while it can be immature, Shin Chan has some of the funniest jokes in all of anime. If you want something a bit more relatable, however, we recommend the more U.S. localized Funimation dub.

2 HAJIME NO IPPO: RISING 8.7

Remember what we said about humor and sports anime with our past two sports entries? We want you to take that and multiply it by infinity because the entire Hajime no Ippo series very well may be the most hilarious experience you will have with a sports anime.

This series has zero jokes that fall flat and just about all of them are timed and executed to perfection. Basically every character has a golden moment that will have you rolling on the floor, take our word for it.

1 ONE-PUNCH MAN 8.8

There is no doubt that this is one of the best comedy anime of the decade. One Punch Man's basic premise is a hero that can defeat any enemy with a single punch. That is funny enough on its own but that's not all there is to the humor, not with this diverse cast.

Of course, there's the title character Saitama who just wishes he could fight someone with winning after one hit and can carry casual conversations during battle. You've got Genos, the cyborg sidekick that keeps pushing himself to get stronger but gets dismembered literally every time he fights. The funniest character, however, would definitely have to be King who we really don't want to spoil anything about. Just please give this one a chance if you want a good couple of laughs.
