Nowadays, it's hard to imagine any other actor out there that could have beaten Chris Hemsworth to the role of Thor. Throughout his several outings within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Australian actor -- and his bulging muscles -- has not only looked the part, he's successfully developed the superhero into a wise-cracking thunder-wielder with complex daddy issues, whose one-liners could give Tony Stark a run for his money. Despite it being harder to be so god-like in everyday life, it turns out that Hemsworth is just as impressive off-screen too and fortunately, because he always seems to be working on some project or another, he never seems to be out of the spotlight.RELATED: Always On-Point: 15 Times Stephen Amell Was A Real-Life SuperheroWhether he's making fans laugh in interviews, flexing his muscles in promotional pics or just being a stand-up guy on social media as he champions marriage equality or ocean clean-ups, Hemsworth's good deeds and funniest moments have not gone unnoticed by the CBR team. So here, we pool together some of the times he's proved to be a real life god; a state of perfection so great, only the likes of Chris "Captain America" Evans and Ryan "Hey Girl!" Gosling have ever achieved it... (if the internet is to be believed, that is).

15 OCEAN CLEAN-UP

When he's saving the world by fighting fictional bad guys, Chris Hemsworth is quite literally saving the world by cleaning up beaches and encouraging other people to follow. In May, he took to Instagram to spread the word as well as announce his involvement with 100 Islands Protected. He explained: "I want to inspire people to find a solution and protect the world's oceans so future generations can enjoy them like I do."

In the accompanying photograph, Hemsworth can be seen holding several empty plastic bottles which he gathered up whilst vacationing in the Maldives. 100 Islands Protected, which was thought up by Corona and the organization Parley for the Oceans, is a campaign that aims to end marine plastic pollution, one of the biggest threats to human health and the survival of the world’s oceans by cleaning 100 islands and the surrounding seas of plastic by 2020.

14 AVENGERS ACTION FIGURES

Neither Hulk nor Thor made an appearance in Captain America: Civil War, despite the rest of the gang showing up. Of course, it made complete sense why they didn't; the twosome was off gallivanting in space getting up to all sorts of Ragnarok-based business instead, but that didn't mean that actor Chris Hemsworth were any less bitter about being left out. In a hilarious video he shared on his Instagram page, he got his own back as he playfully messed around with action figures of his fellow Avengers.

"Oh, this is cute. Just playing with your dolls here?" he questions the off-camera directors Anthony and Joe Russo, who were filming Infinity War at the time. "Interesting there's no Thor toy in here. Is that on purpose?," he asks before saying Hawkeye looks like a Berlin techno raver, calling Cap an idiot and swatting Iron Man with his Mjolnir prop.

13 T-REX CAKE

He may look tough on the outside but there's no denying that Chris Hemsworth is a gentle giant in real life. His likability is largely why so many people love him and when he shows off his softer side, particularly when it comes to his relationship with his children, both male and female fans all over the world can't help but melt.

One stand-out moment was back in May, when Hemsworth took to Instagram to share a photograph of the birthday cake he had made for his daughter, India. "What happens when the bakery says they don't have time to make your daughter a birthday cake?" he captioned the pic. "You get involved and smash one out yourself." Turns out, Hemsworth's hard work paid off, as the result wasn't too shabby either. Looks like Hulk isn't the only one who's good at "smashing" things around here.

12 STANDING WITH STANDING ROCK

In 2016, the US Army Corps of Engineers began the construction of a 1,172-mile pipeline which aimed to connect oil-rich areas of North Dakota and Illinois and transport the collected oil to refineries on the Gulf Coast or East Coast. The $3.7 billion project seemed a worthy investment to boost the US economy but behind the scenes, the pipeline was set to destroy sacred Native American sites and negatively affect the quality of water in their area.

Because of that reason, the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe sued the Corps and held protests against the pipeline. Their actions -- and the controversial response of law enforcement officials -- caused many passionate celebrities to take to social media to support the Tribe in their pursuit of justice. Hemsworth was no exception. He posed for a photograph alongside Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi, cheering on the Tribe's efforts and fight.

11 LIVIN HOODIE

While he was filming Thor: Ragnarok in Brisbane, Australia, Chris Hemsworth was seen wearing a grey hoodie with 'LIVIN' emblazoned on it. It turned out to be manufactured by the Livin Charity, which focuses on suicide prevention and shortly after Hemsworth was seen in the item of clothing, the organization revealed that the free promotion increased its sales significantly.

"You can't really put it into words," co-founder Casey Lyons said back in August 2016. "Chris liked the look of it and said 'That's a cool shirt'. When he heard the message behind it he was more than happy to help support it. We're up a lot more sales than normal." Founded by Sam Webb and Lyons in 2013, the Livin Charity -- whose mantra is "It Ain't Weak to Speak" -- aims to eradicate the stigma surrounding mental illness and to raise awareness as to what people go through.

10 TAKING THE GHOSTBUSTERS ROLE

ghostbusters-chris-hemsworth

Since he landed the role of Thor way back in 2009, Chris Hemsworth has more-than-proved himself as a hard-working -- and moreover, talented -- actor. Alongside appearing as the Marvel Comics character in four outings across the MCU, he's starred in diverse films such as horror movie, The Cabin In The Woods, sport-based biopic Rush and adventure-drama In The Heart Of The Sea within the last six years alone.

It wasn't until 2016 however that he got to show fans how great he is at comedic acting... because of course, he's amazing at that too. In Paul Feig's Ghostbusters reboot, Hemsworth plays Kevin, the titular group's hopeless receptionist and he nailed his performance. “No one told me that Chris was so bizarrely funny,” star Melissa McCarthy said last year. “He’s one of the best improvisers I’ve ever worked with, and I’ve worked with many funny people."

9 THOR-SOME WORKOUTS

You only have to take a quick glance at his physique to know that Chris Hemsworth works out like a beast but it wasn't until he posted a video of himself exercising with personal trainer Luke Zocchi that fans really understood how far he goes to maintain that Thor-like bod. The clip sees him doing anything from push-ups and pull-ups to grueling-looking rounds on a elliptical bike.

And if that's not enough, he also dead lifts weights, works out with battle ropes and hammer strength iso-lateral rowing. Sounds exhausting just reading all of those exercise techniques, doesn't it? We don't know how Hemsworth manages. In the video's caption, Hemsworth gave a shout-out to Zocchi, encouraging his followers to check out his website if they are after "the best training advice, nutrition advice or just [trying to learn] how to be a flat-out legend."

8 PRETTY POLISHED

Hemsworth supports a number of charitable causes, which focus on a diverse range of issues from marine conservation to the worldwide protection of wildlife. One that he actively supports is YGAP, a Melbourne-based non-profit organization that helps local entrepreneurs improve the lives of people living in poverty.

In September 2016, Hemsworth allied himself with YGAP's Polished Man, a campaign that raises both awareness and funds for children who have suffered abuse. On Instagram, the Snow White And The Huntsman star explained the concept behind the campaign's title, saying that he will paint one fingernail on each hand in order to represent the one in five children who fall victim to physical and/or sexual violence. The idea is that the painted nail sparks conversation, which in turn could lead to more awareness and possibly, a donation too.

7 ASGARDIAN ARTWORK

Chris Hemsworth is a man of many talents. Not only does he manage to keep his body in tip-top shape all year round in order to play Thor, he can surf like a pro as well. He's also brilliant at comedy, proven not only when he hosted Saturday Night Live but when he appeared in Ghostbusters as well. But did you know, he's also a pretty decent artist too? (Some guys just have all the luck, huh?)

He showed off his unexpected abilities on Instagram back in May 2016, when he posted his redesign of Thor's look, completely with bleach-blonde hair, Aquaman-esque pants, gladiator sandals, a bejeweled belt and some serious abs. Thankfully, he didn't get rid of Thor's iconic red cape, however, we're not quite sure how he's wearing it as it appears to be coming out of this Thor's bare shoulders...

6 MARRIAGE EQUALITY SUPPORT

Throughout September 2017, Australians have the opportunity to vote whether they support a change in law to allow same-sex couples to marry, or not. Many famous faces from Down Under have chimed in on the forthcoming marriage equality plebiscite including Suicide Squad star Margot Robbie, retired professional rugby league footballer Beau Ryan, singer Delta Goodrem and most recently, Chris Hemsworth.

Taking to Instagram, he urged his followers to vote FOR marriage equality because he believes that a country based on equal citizenship should echo those values when it comes to getting hitched too. He stated: "Marriage is about love and commitment and should be available to everyone!" Talking about the vote, Equality Campaign executive director Tiernan Brady said: “Marriage equality will not change anything for the vast majority of Australians, but will make a profound difference to the status and dignity of many.”

5 SPLIT RUMOR SHUT-DOWN

Back in October 2016, a magazine claimed Chris Hemsworth and his wife Elsa Pataky were having relationship troubles. "They've decided they need space, and they've been taking a little break from each other," a source told the magazine, before going on to speculate: "He's [Chris] away again in November, so you might think Elsa would want to be there to spend every moment with him, not go away without him."

The source even went on to suggest that Pataky had turned to her brother Cristian Prieto "during the tough time." But as with most gossip fans read out about in the news, the statements turned out to be completely fabricated. Hemsworth responded to the false rumors by posting a shot of himself and Pataky, alongside the sarcasm-filled caption: "Looking for a new wife according to @womansdayaus and other misleading outlets! Honey you still love me right?! @elsapatakyconfidential #thanksfortheheadsup"

4 AUSTRALIAN CHILDHOOD FOUNDATION WORK

Chris Hemsworth is a keen promoter of the welfare of others and the natural world and has worked alongside causes such as 100 Islands Protected, a marine conservation campaign, and YGAP, a children's charity, throughout his career. One organization that is particularly important to Hemsworth is the Australian Childhood Foundation which he, and his brother Liam Hemsworth, are ambassadors.

Back in November 2015, the Thor star raised $275,000 worth of Australian dollars after he auctioned off a number of prizes at the Audi Australia Film Gala screening of In The Heart Of The Sea in Sydney. One winner paid a whopping $26,000 for a walk-in extras role in Hemsworth's upcoming film Thor: Ragnarok. More recently, Hemsworth raised $60,000 during an star-studded cocktail event which announced his future involvement with watch brand TAG Heuer.

3 THAT BASKETBALL SHOT

Anyone who is familiar with Hemsworth will know that he's an avid surfer, but did you also know that he's super amazing at basketball too? Seriously, is there anything this guy can't do? It's getting a bit silly now.

To prove his mad skills (or insane luck, we can't be too sure), the 33-year-old shared the above video to his Instagram page back in January. It sees him throw a basketball towards a net at the opposite end of the court and quite unbelievably, it goes straight in without even touching the sides. As one would after such an accomplishment, Hemsworth then runs around the gym, screaming enthusiastically. He later thanked New Mexico Tech for the "greatest day of [his] life" in the online post.

2 AFTER PREMIERE PICK-ME-UP

Is there anything sweeter than a doting dad? Definitely not, which is why the hearts of Chris Hemsworth's fans everywhere practically burst when his wife shared a snapshot of him making a late-night snack with their young daughter after a film event. The couple were in Los Angeles for the premiere of The Huntsman: Winter's War but it seems like they weren't too keen on staying for the after-party and instead, went home to cook up a storm with little India.

Now, that is sweet. However, we're not quite sure what the suited-and-booted Marvel actor was making, mind you as eagle-eyed viewers could only spot several broken egg shells, a jar of salt and some meat-like leftovers on the counter. While it's anyone's guess what the Hemsworths ate that night, we're going to go with... omelets.

1 BEASTIE BOY

Having spent his childhood in Australia, Chris Hemsworth is used to seeing all kinds of creatures pop up in his day-to-day life, from kangaroos to snakes and spiders. But there's a big difference between being tolerant of said wildlife and embracing it wholeheartedly, particularly when it comes to creepy crawlies!

Unsurprisingly, Hemsworth isn't afraid of even the biggest of spiders -- unlike most sane people -- and even got close enough to take a Halloween-themed selfie with one way back in October 2015. The image, which sees him staring lovingly at a huge arachnid, was one of the first few pictures he shared on his page two years ago. The very first was a similar snap, only with a snake in his garden rather than a spider in his house.
