Beat Saber is an incredibly addicting VR game that many fans consider to be the next rhythm game sensation along the lines of Guitar Hero and Rock Bandwhere players slash blocks to the beat of a wide selection of songs. Many fans cite the game's visual feedback and use of musical expression through movement as to why it's so satisfying to play. However, one common criticism is the focus on the electronic genre of music. This has been remedied by a combination of fan-made charts and the official artist-themed music packs that often cross into non-electronic genres, such as pop-punk and nu-metal.

There are a total of eight music packs currently available for Beat Saber. Each music pack adds a collection of tracks by a particular band or artist, and it seems as though Beat Saber fans have varied opinions on each collection's quality. For those interesting in adding new charts to their Beat Saber experience and may not be explicit fans of any of the bands, here's which packs are worth the price.

Green Day Music Pack

Fans of the punk-rock band and Rock & Roll Hall of Famers Green Day will be pleasantly surprised to see how much of their discography is represented here. "American Idiot" and "Boulevard Of Broken Dreams" are two of the band's most well-known songs that the pack would be sorely lacking without. Luckily, both are included alongside plenty of other iconic songs from the rest of Green Day's albums, which unfortunately isn't the case for every music pack in the game.

These tracks are fairly well charted as well, though some fans cite that they're a little too much on the difficult side. On harder difficulties, the tracks tend to throw a huge spike in difficulty at the player after opening with some fairly simple charting. Unfortunately, these packs can sometimes be inconsistent, as some have incredibly lively charts whilst others feel somewhat bland. Still, the Green Day Music Pack is a great detour from Beat Saber's electronic-focused music selection.

Monstercat Music Pack Vol. 1

The Monstercat collection is often cited as being a fan-favorite. This may be in part due to the variety in the genre of each of the charts, with everything from trap to chiptune included. Many of the songs, like "Overkill" by RIOT and "Epic" by Tokyo Machine, have some pretty unique twists on their genres that lead to those songs being incredibly fun to play. There's something in this pack for everyone, though the variety may lead some to only purchase individual songs from the pack rather than the entire album.

Whilst Monstercat Music Pack Vol. 1 does end up being more electronic, there's such a wide range of unique sub-genres that nothing really sounds like Beat Saber's default song selection. There's also the fact that there are ten featured artists for people to discover if they haven't listened to them already. This pack is one of the more pricy, sitting at $12.90 for ten songs, but the decent variety between songs makes it worth the price.

The second Monstercat Pack, paired with a Rocket League promotion, hits many the same beats as the first pack. However, Volume 1 has a much stronger selection of tracks with a bit more variety than the second pack. The first pack also has a larger song selection compared to the second, with only six songs total.

Panic! At the Disco Music Pack

Whilst pop-punk might not be everyone's cup of tea, there's no denying that the Panic! At the Disco songs were charted extraordinarily well. Fans cite that the songs make great use of Beat Saber's momentum-based rhythm gameplay. It's challenging yet still manages to have fun and feel lively to play, which is partly due to the energy of the Panic! At the Disco songs that were chosen. The stand-out song from this pack is by far "High Hopes."

A major downside, however, is the song selection. Long-time Panic! At the Disco fans are going to be disappointed that none of their older songs, such as "I Write Sins not Tragedies," are omitted from this pack. Everyone else will probably look at the four songs included and note that it doesn't take advantage of Panic! At the Disco's huge discography.

Linkin Park Music Pack

For those looking for a break from Beat Saber's heavy focus on electronic music, Linkin Park's selection of tracks is a great place to start as it has what may be the best song selection out of any of the packs. There are eleven songs in this pack, making it both the second largest and second most expensive out of any of the music packs.  Much like with the Green Day pack, songs from all across Linkin Park's discography are represented with almost every one of their most notable hits.

The charts for these songs are also very well made, with each song able to blend Linkin Park's sound with Beat Saber's aesthetic and gameplay. Linkin Park fans shouldn't hesitate in picking up this music pack for its incredibly fun collection of hits. The pack is also a must-buy for fans of genres like rock music and nu-metal and anyone else looking for a little more variety in Beat Saber.

Imagine Dragons Music Pack

The verdict from Beat Saber fans is that Imagine Dragons has one of the most fun selection of songs out of any of the music packs. A combination of incredibly well-designed charts and songs that fit Beat Saber's gameplay surprisingly well leads many to cite this pack as one of the best.  Not only is the gameplay fun, but the song selection focus on the band's more notable and powerful songs.

The standout songs from the Imagine Dragons Music Pack include "Radioactive," "Thunder" and "Believer." The mapping for their charts is considered fun to play, even for people who don't consider themselves Imagine Dragons fans. With ten songs total, the Imagine Dragons pack comes out to a reasonable $12.90 that is absolutely worth the purchase. Even for non-Imagine Dragons fans, the songs included in this pack are tons of fun to play in Beat Saber.
