Dot Pixis is the commander of the Garrison Corps within the walls. Though the regiment is known for slacking off, Pixis knows when it is time to get serious. Ever the strategist, Pixis watches from the sidelines, observing and gathering any information he can to bring about the downfall of the corrupt government.

Fans fell in love with Ymir because of her devotion to Historia, and her willingness to put herself in harm's way for her friends. Since she is a Marleyan, Ymir remembers what life was like on the mainland, and has a unique perspective on Paradis. This gives audiences a chance to view a different perspective of the war and adds even more depth to the mystery.
7 Hannes Rights His Wrongs
Life as a Garrison soldier is peaceful for Hannes until two abnormal Titans crash through the walls, wreaking havoc. Hannes later finds Eren Yeager and Mikasa Ackerman, who are attempting to free Eren's mother from fallen debris. With a Titan bearing down on them, Hannes flees with Eren and Mikasa, leaving Eren's mother behind.
Eren resents Hannes for not attempting to kill the Titan before it got to his mother, and Hannes starts to feel the same way. When the same Titan appears before Eren in the field, Hannes takes the opportunity to correct his mistake and fights to protect Eren and his friends. Even though Hannes succumbs to this attack, viewers appreciated that he sought to right his wrongs.

Although Connie Springer is not the most talented nor the smartest in the Scout Regiment, he is probably one of the calmest. Though his success has a body count, Erwin remains a fan favorite for his relentless nature in charging forward in the fight for answers.
3 Jean Kirstein Knows The Cost Of War
A supporting protagonist in Attack On Titan, Jean is typically more grounded than the rest of the Paradis crew. Although he is a bit of a coward, Jean is always able to conquer his fears to get the job done. Jean can fight because he knows the alternative is far worse.
While many other characters have reasons to fight, Jean is too aware of the realities of war. His realistic outlook in every situation adds a relatable element to Attack On Titan. Jean is a beloved side character because he is aware of his situation, and excels despite it.
2 Hange Uses Science To Put People In Their Place
Hange Zoë is the unofficial Science Officer of the Survey Corps. Through their persistent and unconventional experiments, Hange offers the people of Paradis answers to what lies beyond the wall. Hange is also an incredible inventor and can upgrade and create numerous weapons.

1 Artur Braus Is A Saint
Fans have to admit that Artus Braus is the best recurring character in Attack On Titan. From a young age, he trains his daughter how to survive by living off the land and teaches her how to hunt. He also leads a small band of people to warn all the neighboring villages when a Titan attacks.
Artur later opens his home to a small band of orphaned children - including two enemy recruits from the Marleyan army. Artur's saintly status is cemented when he learns of his daughter's passing and realizes that her murderer was one of the Marleyan recruits. After being offered a chance to kill the recruit, Arthur forgives her instead. His incredible acts of kindness juxtaposes the bleakness of Attack On Titan, so fans cherish this virtuous character.
