You may have asked yourself many times: what is in an opening? Spoilers, the foreshadowing of the fates of characters, fanservice? But have you ever thought about an ending? You have probably skipped the ending without care. But what if it is so good you can't bear to skip it?

Those are the endings we are going to be talking about on this list. You better grab a notepad and pen, because you might want to remember some of these songs for reference. We are going through to talk about the ten best anime endings of the decade and ranking them.

10 SWORD ART ONLINE: ALICIZATION ENDING 2

We're beginning this list with one of the most anticipated anime of 2019. The second ending song for Sword Art Online: Alicization is "forget-me-not" sang by ReoNa. Her soft voice matches well with the atmosphere of the song.

Combined with the beautiful animation of Eugeo standing underneath a starry sky surrounded by blue roses, his signature symbol, this ending is probably the one that will stick with you the most - especially when the chorus begins, and ice flys into the sky. It's the perfect send-off for Eugeo as he meets a younger Kirito and Alice at the end.

9 PUELLA MAGI MADOKA★MAGICA ENDING

The second ending song for Puella Magi Madoka★Magica is "Magia" sang by Kalafina. By now, everyone should know this is not your typical magical girl anime. And for those who do not, then this ending may confuse you before you watch the anime -- which is precisely why it is not shown until episode three when things become more serious. Genius.

To most, the first opening is "See You Tomorrow" sang by Aoi Yuuki, which sets you in a false sense of security. Still, when you're hit by Kalafina's mysterious song and the dark ending animation, you begin to realize everything you thought about this anime was a lie.

8 THE IRREGULAR AT MAGIC HIGH SCHOOL ENDING 2

The second ending song for The Irregular at Magic High School is "Mirror" sang by Rei Yasuda. With an opening song sang by LiSA, one of the most famous Japanese singers out there, it should have an ending song that is as good or even better to be on par. Don't ignore this beautifully sung ending because of the anime's reputation.

It highlights each character's weapon of choice throughout, shading them in colors that complement each background. Although the middle part may be a bit questioning, it does not take away the fluid graphics of this ending.

7 BLACK BUTLER: BOOK OF CIRCUS ENDING

Image features a Funimation clip of Black Butler's Ciel Phantomhive

The ending song for Black Butler: Book of Circus is "The Pale Full Moon" sang by AKIRA. Despite the first ending for the Black Butler series being full of chibis, this one takes a symbolic turn. While the lyrics of the song speak of faults and living in the darkness, the ending reflects Ciel's life.

While he begins with both of his eyes being normal, after he is dipped within the ebony bathtub, he comes out with the Faustin contract on his right eye. Despite Sebastian being on his side, in the end, he is only there to eat his soul when the contract is complete.

6 BLOOD BLOCKADE BATTLEFRONT ENDING

Blood Blockade Battlefront cast on stage

The ending song for Blood Blockade Battlefront is "Sugar Song and Bitter Step" sang by Unison Square Garden. Do you ever wonder why there were so many YouTube videos with anime characters dancing on a stage in suits and dresses? You may have first seen this ending as a duplicate, but it originated from none other than Blood Blockade Battlefront.

For an action anime, this is probably the most relaxed ending ever. It shows the main cast and supporting characters dancing together -- even the antagonist joining in on the fun. What more could an ending have to get you up and dance?

5 FIRE FORCE ENDING 1

The ending song for Fire Force is "Veil" sang by Keina Suda. This ending was modified because of the unfortunate tragedy at Kyoto Animation, so the buildings on fire were removed. Before the tragedy, however, this ending was one of the best during Summer 2019.

It focuses on Iris and shows her days at the orphanage she was raised at before it caught on fire from an Infernal. As she runs from it, she reaches the new place she belongs to with the people of Special Fire Force Company Eight.

4 DEMON SLAYER ENDING 2

The second ending song for Demon Slayer is "Tanjiro Kamado's Song" sang by Nami Nakagawa. Despite the first ending of Demon Slayer being a fantastic song, this gives the viewer a more profound impact, for it made its debut after an epic fight.

That fight, Tanjiro and Nezuko vs. Rui, was so big it broke Twitter and made more people watch the anime. Composed by Go Shiina, the composer for video games such as God Eater and Tekken, the orchestral sound and beautiful voice of Nami Nakagawa leave an impression on you.

3 FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST: BROTHERHOOD ENDING  1

The ending song for Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is "Lie" sang by SID. Do not let the chibis fool you -- this ending is not a happy one. With the distinctive vocals and sound this band has, it's hard to find a bad song from them. This shows that an ending does not need beautiful animation to leave an impact on you.

It is depicted as a childish drawing, showing Ed and Alphonse walking under the sunset as well as the other characters. In the end, it shows that it was Ed and Alphonse's chalk drawing.

2 HUNTER X HUNTER (2011) ENDING 5

The sixth ending song for Hunter x Hunter (2011) is "Two Sides of the Same Coin" sang by Yuzu. Now here in an ending that fits the fan-favorite best arc, the Chimera Ant arc. As chips fly in the air, you can see Meruem and Komugi playing Gungi as they overlap, as the lyrics say.

It also depicts the mental state Gon is in with dead eyes and Killua looking to the side with a forlorn expression. As the Chimera Arc was the pinnacle of Hunter x Hunter, this ending is the best to match this arc.

1 RASCAL DOES NOT DREAM OF BUNNY GIRL SENPAI ENDING

To take the crown of the best ending song of the decade, we have "Mysterious Chart" which is the ending for Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai. What makes this ending so unique is that it isn't sung by just one person, but the entire cast of best girl candidates.

Every girl receives an arc through the thirteen-episode anime as well as an ending theme sung by the voice actress. They also all receive different backdrops of the beach: Mai is walking during sunset, Tomeo in daylight, Rio at night, and Nodoka at sundown.
