Unlike Superman, Batman, or Wonder Woman, there have been several characters that have worn the Green Lantern mantle, with the most notable being Hal Jordan. From Alan Scott in the early days of the Golden age of comics to the young and modern Jessica Cruz and Kyle Rainer, the Green Lanterns are vast.

Since DC deals a lot with multiverse travel, we have seen just about every DC character meet or even fight against their alternate version and as fans, they can enjoy watching a character that shares similarities but is nothing like their hero. As one of the best characters in the DC universe, let's look at some of the best alternate versions of the Green Lantern.

10 Duck Dodgers - Green Loontern

Duck Dodgers becomes the Green Loontern as a Green Lantern parody

In a hilarious twist/crossover, we see none other than Duck Dodgers take on the Green Lantern ring and try his luck at being a hero for the day. As many would expect, he had some trouble starting off as a hero but his luck quickly changed and he was actually able to make a pretty good Lantern in the end.

It may not be the best or most powerful alternate version of the Green Lantern, but it is definitely a memorable one that a lot of fans have some memories of all these years later.

9 Ch'p

ch'p flies in the Injustice universe

Living in a world where chipmunks can talk and think like a human, we meet Ch'p, one of the most loyal and brave Green Lanterns in the multiverse. We have seen him in the frontlines of just about every multiversal event and have even seen him overcome some pretty serious mental health issues.

Ch'p is unfortunately passed away in the current comic continuity, but he is still remembered and even respected by Hal Jordan himself, who sees him as an ally and crime-fighting partner.

8 Len Lewis - Earth 6

With powers more like Superman, Len Lewis of Earth 6 was created by Marvel legend Stan Lee. Len Lewis is a younger version of the Green Lantern with elemental powers and super strength and invulnerability, making him one of the most powerful Lanterns ever.

We haven't seen much of him since he was created as a rarity, but he is still very popular and a lot of DC fans who love comics and the Green Lantern. He is remembered for his heroics and his good nature.

7 Kingdom Come Green Lantern - Earth 22

In the story Kingdom Come, we see an older and more sinister Justice League, including a grizzled old Alan Scott Green Lantern. He is so powerful that he is one with the power of the Green Lantern and he even builds his armor out of the energy.

Among that he is able to build a new planet and he is so powerful, he makes Parallax look like a rookie and could easily take on any other Yellow Lantern or anyone who stands in his way.

6 Green Lantern - Earth 9

Tangent Green Lantern

Hailing from the mysterious Earth 9 where all the heroes are name swapped compared to their Earth 1 counterparts, we see an alternate version of the Green Lantern called the Tangent Green Lantern. It's not quite clear which Green Lantern she is most like but most compare her to the first GA, Alan Scott.

She possesses a completely different powerset than the normal Green Lanterns such as turning intangible, traveling through time and space, and resurrecting the dead. She is very clearly one of the most powerful versions, giving Hal Jordan a run for his money.

5 Hank Hallmark - Earth 36

Instead of a lantern, this Earth 36 version sports a flashlight and is every but like Hal Jordan. He has the same powers and is pretty much just an alternate version with the one small difference. He is a member of the Earth 36 Justice League and serves very similarly to any other Lantern.

He hasn't appeared a lot and isn't a very memorable version of the hero but is nonetheless an interesting take on the Green Lantern and the way we usually see him.

4 Kai-ro - Green Lantern Of The Future

Think of Aang if instead of the Avatar, he was chosen as a Green Lantern and then you get Kai-ro. Raised by monks and given the powers of the Green Lantern, Kai-ro joined the Justice League of the future alongside Batman Beyond and other versions of future heroes.

He is well known for always staying composed and refusing to lose his cool no matter how tense the situation is. He is wise beyond his years and one of the most popular alternate versions of the hero.

3 Alan Scott - Earth 2

Alan Scott as the Golden Age Green Lantern

Many think that Hal Jordan was the first Green Lantern due to his popularity, but about a couple of decades before, we were introduced to Alan Scott. As an esteemed member of the Justice Society of America and is best known for his heroics in the Golden Age.

Residing on Earth-2, Alan Scott has accomplished a lot as a lantern and has paved the road for other lanterns like Hal Jordan or Jon Stewart, who are slowly becoming more popular. He is a bit more serious and old-fashioned but he is still every bit a hero like his counterparts.

2 Bruce Wayne Green Lantern - Earth 32

On Earth-32, when Bruce Wayne's parents are killed, he is chosen by the ring to be the protector of earth. Bruce had no interest in being a hero and simply wanted to catch his parent's murders, even though the ring wouldn't allow it. When he overrode the ring with his own willpower, he became one of the most powerful Lanterns and one of the most murderous.

He killed his entire rogue's gallery and he even takes down the Justice League and Green Lantern Corps that try to stop him. He is not to be underestimated and is quite possibly one of the most dangerous Green Lanterns in the entire multiverse.

1 Injustice Green Lantern

In the alternate universe where Superman turns into an evil dictator after he was tricked into killing Lois Lane, he recruits some Justice Leaguers to join his regime and one of the heroes he recruits is Hal Jordan. He takes the yellow ring, he kills Guy Gardener and he fights alongside Superman despite his dictator ways.

Although he eventually turns back to the good side, the damage is done and there is no real way to redeem himself for all that he did. This Hal Jordan is just like his Earth-1 counterpart, just less will power and more likely to kill.
