Today, we spotlight all 24 1990s Christmas-themed comic book stories that we featured this month in our "Very Dope 1990s Christmas" theme, along with a quick description of each story. This year's Advent Calendar, of Grunge Santa Claus giving out 90s present, like a Tamagotchi, while posing with four superheroes with the most-90s costumes around, is by Nick Perks

1. "One Perfect Gift" from Christmas 1992's Flash #73 by Mark Waid, Greg LaRocque and Ray Richardson. (At Christmastime, Wally West feels bad about how presents don't have the same thrill as when he was a kid. He will soon be proven very wrong.)

2. "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" from Christmas 1996's Amazing Spider-Man #420 by Tom DeFalco, Steve Skroce and Bud La Rosa. (Back in the mid-1990s, Spider-Man struck up a bizarre friendship with the mutant known as X-Man and the result was a macabre Christmas visit with Aunt May)

3. "A Christmas Underground" from Christmas 1997's Hellboy Christmas Special #1 by Mike Mignola (In his first Christmas special, Mike Mignola did a particularly dark take on a traditional Christmas story with Hellboy filling in for Santa Claus)

4. "Noel" from Christmas 1995's Spawn #39 by Todd McFarlane, Greg Capullo, Tom Orzechowski and Steve Oliff. (Come Christmastime, a little boy somehow mistakes Spawn for Santa Claus in this Greg Capullo and Todd McFarlane adventure.)

5. "Favorite Things" from Christmas 1995's Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight #79 by Mark Millar, Steve Yeowell and Dick Giordano. (The first Batman comic book by superstar writer Mark Millar was a tearjerker involving Batman's last Christmas present from his parents being stolen)

6. "Merry Christmas, Mister Storm" from Christmas 1995's Spider-Man Holiday Special #1 by Sholly Fisch, Robert Brown, Josh Hood and Al Williamson (The friendship between the Human Torch was tested when Spider-Man was suddenly replaced by a new hero in the mask. How did they handle Christmas?)

7. "Metropolis Mailbag" from Christmas 1991's Superman #64 by Dan Jurgens and Jackson Guice (After they were engaged, Superman let Lois Lane in on a holiday tradition of his - answering letters that people sent to Superman looking for help.)

8. "Hopes and Fears" from Christmas 1993's 1993 Marvel Holiday Special by Steven Grant and Pat Broderick (Over a decade before One More Day, Spider-Man and Mephisto clashed over the fate of the Spirit of Christmas, with Spidey's soul on the line!)

9. "The Old Lane" from Christmas 1997's DCU Holiday Bash #2 by Brian Stelfreeze and Devin Grayson (In a classic holiday tale, Dick Grayson and Barbara Gordon admitted to some hilariously adorable holiday misunderstandings when they were younger)

10. "Catastrophe on 34th Street" from Christmas 1994's 1994 Marvel Holiday Special by Kurt Busiek, James Fry and Neil Vokes (Discover how an X-Men villain that was meant to debut in the 1960s finally showed up in, of all places, a 1990s X-Men X-Mas comic book story)

11. "A Miracle a Few Blocks down from 34th Street" from Christmas 1991's 1991 Marvel Holiday Special by Scott Lobdell, Dave Cockrum and Joe Rubinstein and "Yes, Jubilee, There is a Santa Claus" from Christmas 1999's Generation X Holiday Special #1 by Joe Harris, Adam Pollina and Mark Morales (plus a bunch of other inkers) (During the 1990s, a pair of Marvel comic books surprisingly revealed that Santa Claus was, in fact, a mutant!)

12. "When Strikes the Gladiator" from Christmas 1996's Uncanny X-Men #341 by Scott Lobdell, Joe Madureira and Tim Townsend (At Christmastime, the powerful Gladiator, the Shi'ar equivalent of Superman, was shocked when he one of the X-Men took him on one-on-one!)

13. "Metropolis Mailbag II" from Christmas 1992's Superman #76 by Dan Jurgens and Brett Breeding (After the Death of Superman, the other heroes of the DC Universe had to step up at Christmastime to answer letters sent to Superman)

14. "Precious Gifts" from Christmas 1991's Marvel 1991 Holiday Special by Len Kaminski, Ron Lim and Jim Sanders III (See how a Christmas connection made by Captain America later led to Winter Soldier's most bittersweet reunion)

15. "Merriment, Mistletoe, and... Mayhem!" from Christmas 1995's Guy Gardner: Warrior #39 by Beau Smith, Marc Campos, Dan Davis and Nick Napolitano (John Constantine was effectively 'banned' by DC from the DC Universe, but he made a rare cameo to spike the punch at...Guy Gardner's Christmas party?!)

16. "Christmas Coda" from Christmas 1991's Marvel 1991 Holiday Special by Walter Simonson, Arthur Adams and Al Milgrom (Comic book superstars Walter Simonson and Arthur Adams teamed up for an adorable Fantastic Four story about Franklin saving an iconic Christmas ghost)

17. "Christmas Rapping" from Christmas 1990's Riverdale High #4 by John Wilcox, Stan Goldberg and Mike Esposito (Archie's pals Jughead and Chuck gave their friends the gift that no one wants, a Christmas rap for them all to...enjoy, we guess?)

18. "Rhino Plastered" from Christmas 1990's Incredible Hulk #378 by Peter David (with an assist by Kurt Busiek), Bill Jaaska and Jeff Albrecht (When the Hulk discovers Rhino is hiding out as a mall Santa Claus, the two have a brutal fight, but can they mend their differences to save Christmas?)

19. "Present Tense" from 1997's DCU Holiday Bash #2 by Ty Templeton (Learn how Darkseid has a connection to one of the most powerful beings on Earth...Santa Claus?!)

20. "I'll Be Doom For Christmas" from Christmas 1990's What The-?! #10 by Scott Lobdell and John Byrne (When Santa Claus is injured while trying to deliver presents in Latveria, there is no other hope than for Doctor Doom to fill in as...Santa Doom!)

21. "Not a Creature Was Stirring" from Christmas 1996's Marvel 1996 Holiday Special by Mark Waid, Pat Olliffe and Brett Breeding (J. Jonah Jameson tried discovering Spider-Man's secret identity for years, but would he be willing to give up his own life to learn it?)

22. "How the Groonk Stole Christmas" from Christmas 1991's Thor #444 by Tom DeFalco, Ron Frenz and Al Milgrom (During the 1990s, Thor was briefly a human named Eric Masterson, whose life was already rough before he ran into the Marvel version of the Grinch!)

23. "Christmas" from Christmas 1996's Batman: The Long Halloween #3 by Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale (Early in the Joker's career in villainy, the Holiday killer became more feared than him - how did the Clown Prince of Crime deal with that?)

24. "Ant-Man's Big Christmas" from Christmas 1999's Ant-Man's Big Christmas by Bob Gale and Phil Winslade (In a strange one-shot comic book, Ant-Man and Wasp try to help a young boy have a better Christmas by...torturing the boy's family!)

Merry Christmas, everyone!
