A new figure recreates the iconic cover of the 28th volume of Kentaro Miura's Berserk manga.

A part of Max Factory's premium POP UP Parade L line, the figurine captures the sheer menace of protagonist Guts, showcasing him decked out in his full Berserker Armor with the massive iron sword known as Dragonslayer perched on his shoulder. It stands at over 11 inches tall and features glowing red eyes. Preorders are now being accepted on Crunchyroll's online store through July 4; the figure retails for $79.99 USD and is expected to ship in June 2023.

Set in a dark fantasy world inspired by medieval Europe, Berserk follows the Black Swordsman Guts on his quest for revenge against his former friend and commander Griffith. The manga made its debut in Hakusensha's now-defunct magazine Monthly Animal House in 1989 before moving to Young Animal in 1992, where it has been published intermittently since. Berserk entered an unexpected indefinite hiatus after Miura passed away suddenly on May 20, 2021; he was only 54 years old at the time of his death.

Hakusensha released Miura's final chapter later that year in a special issue of Young Anime, which also featured tributes from other members of the anime/manga industry who were inspired by his work and from fans who love the story of Guts and Griffith. The final volume of Miura's work is scheduled to be released in North America on Nov. 9

Hakusensha also confirmed that the manga would continue with Miura's former assistants at Studio Gaga handling the art and Kouji Mori, his close friend and fellow mangaka, taking over writing responsibilities. "I will only write the lines and stories that Miura described to me," Mori stated when the continuation was announced. "Of course, it will not be perfect. Still, I think I can almost tell the story that Miura wanted to tell." There will be six more chapters of the Fantasia Arc/Elf Island storyline before a brand-new arc kicks off.

Mori's Chapters 365 and 366 were released in Japan last month. It is currently unknown when the chapters will officially launch in North America; however, scans and English fan translations quickly appeared online after the Japanese debut. Responses to the continuation, so far, have been generally positive with many readers expressing their excitement to see Guts' quest for revenge continue. However, some have pointed out a notable shift in overall quality when compared to Miura's work.
