Existing within the confines of the Dragon Ball franchise, the Dragon Balls themselves sit comfortably among the most powerful artifacts in all of anime. These mystical orbs, once collected in unison, have the ability to summon an almighty dragon named Shenron who is capable of granting just one wish. (Or, in the case of the Namekian Dragon Balls used to summon Porunga, three wishes may be granted.)
Such a powerful source of magic would prove useful for someone like Guts from Berserk. For all of the impossible tasks ahead of him and the trauma he's suffered, there have been countless times where a magic wish from a dragon is exactly what Guts would have needed. But if he did have the Dragon Balls, what wishes would he consider making?
10 To Revive His Mother
Guts never had a home or a family to call his own because he grew up as an orphan. Readers never learn anything about his father, but it is known that he was born as his mother was hung from a tree. The whole reason why his name is Guts is that he was found literally hanging from his mother as she died.
Guts has never expressed any interest in wanting to learn anything about his parents or meet them (probably because his journey has been so grueling that he's never had the chance to stop and think about it), but surely, there might be some interest that piques inside of him enough to want to meet her just once.
9 To Learn The Identity Of His Father
While readers are well aware that Guts' mother is long dead, it's unclear if his father is alive or dead. Even if he is alive, the identity of Guts' father remains a mystery. Maybe it's a mystery that Kentaro Miura plans to answer in a future chapter before the series is over, but for now, it's a mystery to everyone, including Guts himself.
Surely, Guts has some questions regarding where his dad was when his mother was hung and where he's been for all of these years when Guts was an orphan. Shenron would tell Guts his identity and from there, Guts' next wish would either to meet him (if he's alive) or revive him (if he's dead).
8 To Revive The Band Of The Falcon
On the day of The Eclipse, Guts was forced to watch helplessly as Griffith sacrificed the Band of Hawks to see his true quest for power come to fruition and become reborn as Femto. One by one, Guts watched his comrades die.
As a man who never felt at home anywhere, the Band may have been the closest he came to finding a family and because of Griffith's selfishness, that family was ripped away from him. Guts knows the Band didn't deserve what happened to them, so using Shenron to revive them all would have to be at the top of his list of potential wishes.
7 To Rid The World Of Demons
The day of The Eclipse was such a tragic and traumatic one for Guts that upon narrowly escaping, he declared war on every demon in existence as the ultimate act of vengeance. Obviously, it'll be impossible for him to accomplish such a feat by himself and he knows it, hence why he often starts and stops his search for Femto in order to recruit help.
A magic dragon who could make all of his wishes come true suddenly makes things easier as he could wish away all of the demons in one flail swoop.
6 To Revive His Demon Child
Prior to The Eclipse, Guts impregnated his lover, Casca, but in the wake of that day's tragedy, the baby was tainted by Griffith and his demonic Femto side, turning the baby into a Demon Child upon its birth. Guts himself recognized it as a demon, but could not bring himself to kill it before it faded away at sunrise.
Naturally, Guts has at least some connection to his offspring and may home to give it a second chance at life by asking Shenron to bring it back.
5 To Turn His Demon Child Human
This and the previous entry would have to be a two-part wish, meaning that either Guts would have to be patient enough to wait a year to grant the second part of his wish or just acquire the Namekian Dragon Balls to make his wishes back to back.
As a Demon Child, his and Casca's offspring is destined to have a short and cursed life. Guts could revive the child as a human in order to give it a proper chance at life.
4 To Regrow His Arm
Among many things on the day of the Eclipse, Guts lost his arm. In his new journey as The Black Swordsman was forced to replace it with a mechanical cannon arm. To some, on the surface, gaining an artificial arm that doubles as a cannon would sound like an upgrade.
Unfortunately for Guts, it serves as more of a reminder of the worst day of his life and the day that he lost everything he had emotionally, physically, and mentally. Undoing his curse and regrowing the human arm he once had would at least alleviate the pain a bit.
3 To Erase Casca's Memory Of The Eclipse
Sometimes, ignorance is bliss. Casca would certainly agree, considering how much the day of the Eclipse took a toll on her, so much so that she regressed into a vegetable of her former shelf and repressed those memories. Two years later, when those memories return, she can't so much as look at Guts without screaming.
Recognizing this, Guts would try his best to ease her pain by wishing to lock those memories away forever, under the impression that he's doing the right thing to help the woman he loves.
2 To Grant Casca A Normal Life Away From War
This might have to be another two-part wish, where Guts does not just erase the worst aspects of Casca's life from her memory, but he'd want Shenron to place her someplace far away from the ensuing war. Give Casca a chance at a normal life of her own.
Maybe one with a normal family and a partner who isn't busy with his own baggage and trauma. It would pain him dearly to send away his lover, but if he knew it meant she'd be safe away from Griffith and happier, he'd happily make that sacrifice.
1 The Power To Kill Griffith
Ultimately, Guts' end goal is to kill Griffith/Femto. It always has been ever since the day of the Eclipse. Even when he vowed to kill all demons, there was one particular demon on his mind.
But with Femto being as powerful as he is, Guts cannot do it by himself. Even with a crew, it might not be enough. He needs some kind of power-up, be it in a weapon or ki power boost. Whatever he needs, Shenron will grant it to him and then, he can finally venture for one final confrontation with the man who ruined his life.
