"Master Race," by Al Feldstein and Bernard Krigstein, is about a man haunted by the past. 1 / 10

He appears to be a Jewish man haunted by the horrors of the Holocaust. 2 / 10

However, it turns out that he is an escaped German war criminal who RAN a camp! 3 / 10

He sees a former prisoner (or THINKS he does) and freaks out and kills himself. 4 / 10

Krigstein loved the story, but felt that it needed more pages than the original six allotted. 5 / 10

He got the okay, but only if he'd fix the lettering himself (which was already done). 6 / 10

You can see on the original art where he cut and pasted the letters. 7 / 10

The issue was published in Impact #1 in 1955, when EC tried to go sans Comics Code. 8 / 10

They changed tactics after the first issue. "Master Race" never would have been Code-approved! 9 / 10
