Writer Brian Michael Bendis is helming the return of the Legion of Super-Heroes to the DC Universe, beginning with the Legion of Super-Heroes: Millennium miniseries this fall. And in honor of the build-up, Bendis has unveiled a brand-new Legion flight ring he received while visiting DC's Burbank offices.

"Broadcasting live from @dccomics in Burbank where I was bequeathed the first ever, newly designed, awesome sauce, legion flight ring," Bendis wrote on Instagram. "Coming soon to an awesome retailer or convention near you! I might be in the men’s room lightly sobbing tears of joy :) #legionofsuperheroes #longlivethelegion @rsookart"

Along with his post are four photos, three of which feature the redesigned flight ring. The fourth photo is a piece of Ryan Sook art that was revealed during Bendis' appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers at the end of July. The prolific writer also mentioned that the flight rings will be available at comic book retailers and conventions in the near future.

The two-part Legion of Superheroes: Millennium series will see Bendis teaming with multiple artists to tell stories starring such characters as Supergirl, Batman Beyond, Kamandi, Tommy Tomorrow, Booster Gold and OMAC, in addition to the Legion themselves. The limited series will lead into a brand-new Legion of Super-Heroes ongoing title from Bendis and artist Ryan Sook.

Legion of Super-Heroes: Millennium #1 goes on sale Sept. 18, followed by Issue #2 on Oct. 2 and the launch of the ongoing Legion of Super-Heroes series in November.
