Many cast members from previous Fast and Furious films will reprise their roles in F9, including Michelle Rodriguez and Helen Mirren. New additions to the film reportedly include Guardians of the Galaxy's Michael Rooker and famed MMA fighter Francis Ngannou.

Following 2017's The Fate of the Furious, F9 will continue the story of Vin Diesel's Dominic Toretto as he faces off against several villains, including the cyberterrorist Cipher (Charlize Theron) and his brother (John Cena). Filming on F9, which began on June 24, 2019, took place in Thailand, Los Angeles, Edinburgh and London. F9 is supposedly the penultimate film in the main Fast and Furious franchise sage.

Ben Stiller is best known for acting in some of the most famous comedy films, including the Meet the Parents trilogy, There's Something About Mary and Night at the Museum. As a director, Stiller has served on films including 1996's The Cable Guy, 2001's Zoolander and 2013's The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.
