Paramount Pictures' live-action Sonic the Hedgehog movie is moving fast and loose -- in more ways than one! Following a release date that is almost a short year away, we've already got a full cast assembled for the live-action/CGI hybrid film.

Variety reports that Parks and Recreation alum Ben Schwartz has been cast as the voice of the titular character. The actor joins a star-studded cast that already includes James Marsden, Tika Sumpter and Jim Carrey.

Based on the popular Sega video game of the same name, Paramount's Sonic the Hedgehog film will mix both live-action and CGI elements. While the premise of the movie isn't known yet, it's safe to assume that the super-fast blue animal will clash against the might of the evil Doctor Robotnik.

Schwartz will later be seen this summer in the comedy thriller Blue Iguana. On top of that, this will not be the first character he voices. Schwartz currently lends his voice to Dewey in Disney Channel's Duck Tales reboot, and he will later be heard as the voice of Leonardo in the Nickelodeon animated series, Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which is set to debut this September.
