Director Zack Snyder had a vision for the Justice League film that was released in 2017, unfortunately, that vision could not be realized. A family tragedy forced the director away from the film and Joss Whedon took over. Audiences were not satisfied and have been unrelenting in their calls for the release of Snyder's original film. Even actors Gal Gadot and Ben Affleck expressed support for the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement on Twitter last year.

Now Affleck, who formerly played Bruce Wayne in the DCEU, has spoken up about his support for #ReleaseTheSnyderCut in an interview with CinemaBlend. The actor stated, "I didn't know about it. Zack was like, 'Hey, they are doing this thing.' And I said, 'Zack, I love you, and I support you. However I can help you.'"

Despite his initial unawareness, Affleck explained that he truly supports the idea, "I do think that movie, you know, having two directors is a very weird thing," he said, before adding, "You have a kind of cow's body with a horse's head a little bit with two directors a lot of times, for better or for worse." Finally, Affleck stated unequivocally, "I do think Zack's cut should be available."

The Twitter movement has a substantial number of supporters, but Warner Bros. has remained largely silent on the subject, making it clear that there are no current plans for the studio to release Zack Snyder's cut of the film. That being said, fans have already been given a number of glimpses at it, courtesy of the director himself, who revealed that Darkseid would have been introduced in the film, as would Wilhem Dafoe's Vulko, among other things.

Justice League is available digitally and on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD. The film stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Ciarán Hinds as Steppenwolf, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon.
