Actor and director Ben Affleck has reportedly entered rehabilitation for alcohol addiction for the second time in more than a year.

According to CNN, the 46-year-old filmmaker was photographed leaving his home on Wednesday in an SUV with his estranged wife Jennifer Garner and an unidentified woman, en route to what People reports is a treatment facility in Malibu, California.

“He is seeking treatment," an unidentified source confirmed to People. "He knew he needed help and was vocal about it.”

Affleck, who's openly discussed his struggles with alcohol, previously sought treatment in 2001 and 2017. He addressed his recovery in March 2017 following the completion of treatment, writing, "I want to live life to the fullest and be the best father I can be. I want my kids to know there is no shame in getting help when you need it, and to be a source of strength for anyone out there who needs help but is afraid to take the first step. I'm lucky to have the love of my family and friends, including my co-parent, Jen, who has supported me and cared for our kids as I've done the work I set out to do. This was the first of many steps being taken towards a positive recovery."

That came roughly a month and a half after Affleck announced he would no longer direct the Batman solo film, but would remain as star and producer. He was succeeded as director in February 2017 by Matt Reeves, but rumors have persisted that Affleck isn't interested in reprising the role of Bruce Wayne, following starring roles in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League, and a cameo in Suicide Squad.
