DCEU star Ben Affleck will return as Batman in The Flash, but only for a few minutes.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Affleck stated, "I did finally figure out how to play that character [Batman], and I nailed it in The Flash. For the five minutes I’m there, it’s really great. A lot of it is just tone. You’ve got to figure out, what’s your version of the person? Who is the guy that fits what you can do? I tried to fit myself into a Batman. And by the way, I like a lot of the stuff we did, especially the first one [Batman v Superman]."

The Flash movie's multiverse timeline allows for different versions of the same character to appear in the film. It was previously announced that Michael Keaton's Batman and Affleck's take on the Caped Crusader would be appearing in the film but based on the actor's comments, it would appear that his version of the character appears in something more akin to a cameo.

Ben Affleck Was the Dark Knight

Affleck started his tenure as the Dark Knight in 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the first live-action film to feature Batman and Superman together. He returned as the character that very same year during a mid-credits scene in Suicide Squad, before returning in Justice League.

2017's Justice League saw Affleck teaming up with the likes of Gal Gadot, Henry Cavill, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller and Ray Fisher. The film's production was flooded with problems following the exit of director Zack Snyder, who had to step down over a personal family matter. Director Joss Whedon was brought in to finish the movie, resulting in drastic changes to the project. Following years of complaints from a vocal portion of the fanbase, Warner Bros. later released Zack Snyder's Justice League, which is Snyder's definitive cut of the film.

In addition to Affleck's return in The Flash, the upcoming film will see Miller return in the titular role and will follow Barry Allen as he travels back in time to prevent his mother's murder, which brings about unintended consequences. Directed by Andy Muschietti, the film also stars Sasha Calle, Michael Shannon, Kiersey Clemons and Ron Livingston.

The Flash is scheduled to hit screens on June 16.
