Bella Thorne is shedding her Disney image in favor of some fright fare.

TheWrap reports the actress will segue into horror opposite Jennifer Jason Leigh in Blumhouse's new Amityville film, directed by Franck Khalfoun (Maniac).

Daniel Farrands and Casey La Scala penned the script, which was originally intended to be a found-footage take on the franchise called Amityville: The Lost Tapes. TheWrap says that's no longer in the cards.

Leigh will play a mother of three who moves Thorne and her siblings into the fateful house.

Debuting in 1979, The Amityville Horror spawned nearly as many sequels and remakes as it has nightmares, including a 2005 version starring Ryan Reynolds, Chloe Grace Moretz and Melissa George.

After starring in Disney's Shake It Up! for three years, Thorne is branching out into other arenas. Next she'll appear in the Adam Sandler/Drew Barrymore comedy Blended, followed by the blatantly titled Home Invasion.
