"Vixen" -- a short-form animated series set in the world of live-action DC Comics-based CW hits "Arrow" and "The Flash" -- debuted with its first episode last week on online platform CW Seed. With the show now out there in the world, voice actor Megalyn Echikunwoke, lead character designer Phil Bourassa and producer/director James Tucker discussed how the character's visual design came together in a newly released video.

"I like that she's strong," Echikunwoke said. "She's fit and petite but she's not tiny. She's not conventionally beautiful. She's cool. She's her own person."

The second episode of "Vixen" will premiere online this Tuesday, and executive producer (and "Arrow" veteran) Marc Guggenheim talked what fans can expect in another recently released video.

"In episode 2, Mari discovers that she has superpowers, in the tried and true way that one typically does discover that they have superpowers," Guggenheim said. "And that's a very convenient mugger."

New "Vixen" episodes debut Tuesdays on CW Seed.
