This summer, CBS and the Television Academy Foundation will offer a chance for two students to spend a semester working behind the scenes of a Star Trek series as interns.

Applications for the Star Trek Command Training Program are open from now to Jan. 21, 2020. Those who join the Los Angeles-based program will work with several departments, including the writing team, costume and makeup, animation, production and post-production.

According to the program, the intern experience is “designed to provide a 360-degree immersion in the production process of the Star Trek Universe.” Applicants have to submit a 750-word statement of interest, a resume, two letters of recommendation and college transcripts. The internship program is open to both undergraduate and graduate students, with a stipend of up to $4,800

Besides providing experience in television, the Television Academy Star Trek Command Training Program is designed to promote “inclusion, access and opportunity.” All applicants will be notified by March 2020.

Right now, there are numerous Star Trek series in development, including Star Trek: Picard, Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, Star Trek: Section 31, and Star Trek: Short Treks for CBS All-Access as well as a so-far untitled animated series that will air on Nickelodeon.
