Beavis and Butt-Head are back in the trailer for Paramount+'s revival movie, Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe.
The trailer features the fan-favorite duo's unmistakable laughs and crude sense of humor, including chuckling at the number "69" after finding themselves transported from 1998 to 2022.
In addition to the trailer, Paramount+ released a brand-new synopsis for the film:
In perhaps the dumbest space movie ever made, Beavis and Butt-head are sentenced to Space Camp by a "creative" judge in 1998, leading to a trip on the Space Shuttle, with predictably disastrous results. After going through a black hole, they reemerge in our time, where they look for love, misuse iPhones, and are hunted by the Deep State. Spoiler: They don't score.
Created by Mike Judge, Beavis and Butt-Head debuted in the 1992 short film Frog Baseball and soon received their own MTV series. The show centered on the eponymous ne'er-do-well teenagers and their fascination with television, music videos and women. The original series ran from 1993 to 1997 and it was revived for a short run in 2011. It also received a theatrical film, Beavis and Butt-Head Do America, in 1996.
"We are thrilled to be working with Mike Judge and the great team at 3 Arts again as we double down on adult animation at Comedy Central," ViacomCBS Entertainment and Youth Group President Chris McCarthy said when the newest Beavis and Butt-Head revival was announced in 2020. "Beavis and Butt-Head were a defining voice of a generation, and we can’t wait to watch as they navigate the treacherous waters of a world light-years from their own."
"It seemed like the time was right to get stupid again," Judge added.
The following year, it would be revealed that Beavis and Butt-Head's return would come in the form of a new movie. Nearly a year after that, Judge confirmed more Beavis and Butt-Head spinoffs were being planned, though details on those projects remain scarce.
Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe arrives on Paramount+ June 23. This will eventually be followed by a Daria film, based on the popular Beavis and Butt-Head spinoff series.
