A couple of months ago, some images for the upcoming “Beauty and the Beast” live-action remake were leaked, and since then, we haven’t much of an update. That all changed today, as a ton of new pictures were released, revealing some up-close looks at the Beast, Belle, and even some other fan-favorite characters.
Entertainment Weekly’s new cover story this month is on the film, and because of that, they’ve revealed some exclusive images (below) of the Disney film that show just how far the production team is going to recapture the aesthetic of the animated original. Several of the non-human characters, including Cogsworth (played by Ian McKellen), Mrs. Potts (Emma Thompson), Lumiere (Ewan McGregor), and Plumette (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) finally get some high quality shots for us to gush over, and we also get a look at Luke Evans as Gaston and Josh Gad as Le Fou, as well as Kevin Kline as Maurice.
Of course, the main attraction here is Emma Watson and Dan Stevens as the titular duo. While we’ve seen some stills of Watson in costume before, we now get to see her in various pieces, including iconic blue and white outfit, as well as her yellow gown. The Beast looks to be a bit different from the original musical, but still very much beastly. Clearly towering over Watson on the cover, this beast has been given a bit of a softer facial construction, but sports some menacing horns atop his head.
