Beastars has finally started getting the treatment it deserves. The 3D aspect of the new anime adaptation scared a lot of people in the initial trailers, but after watching the show, the CG surprisingly looks pretty great! That said, Beastars is known for two things, the Zootopia-esque animalistic society, and the characters.

The concept of the beloved Disney Film and Beastars is relatively similar, but this sort of thing happens from time to time, even with characters between different animes. Legosi is by far one of the most beloved protagonists within the more niche crowds. But, many of the other characters in the show are just as dynamic! So, let's go through some of the bigger characters and break down exactly what type of MBTI© personality fits them best.

10 Legosi The Gray Wolf - ISFP (Adventurer)

Legoshi

Heads up, Beastars is all about animals, so it had a bit of an odd overtone, but, as we all know, only the coolest people love animals. Anyway, we have to start with Legosi himself. This Gray Wolf might be the lead character, but he's also one of the biggest introverts in the show. Legosi likes his time alone, tends to keep things private, and thinks way more than he actually talks.

The Sensing vs Intuition part was a bit difficult, as Legosi's aspirations and hope for his relationship with Haru feels pretty intuitive, but the actual personality he displays in most other interactions is much more like a sensing-type. Then, while Legosi does think everything through, we think it's obvious to anyone familiar with that character that he's much more about strong emotions than logical decisions.

9 Louis The Red Deer - ENTJ (Commander)

Now, this isn't our first rodeo breaking down the personality types of characters in anime, and if you're observant, you'll notice some similarities between the personality types of characters between shows. Such as the contrast between Legosi and Louis, the original potential Beastar student from Cherrington Academy. Louis and Legosi may be close, but they couldn't be more different, both in terms of their physical and mental properties. Louis is a trademark Extrovert, someone who feels at home in the spotlight.

We struggled with Louis, but ultimately, he represents everything Legosi doesn't, and it's nice to watch them slowly learn each others ideologies over the course of the show.

8 Haru The Dwarf Rabbit - ENFP (Campaigner)

Haru is an oddity, everything about her is contractionary, and that's kind of the point of her character. She tries to be this symbol of physical contact and connection, but she feels alone more often than anyone. She's seen as this rare adorable "beauty", but she looks more characteristically like an animal than anyone else.

Her own body screams at her to stay away from Legosi at every turn, yet she keeps going back. Haru is absolutely the ENFP type, she's playful, outgoing, blunt, perceptive, and optimistic. She believes in others much more than she believes in herself, and that's part of the reason everyone always gunning for her.

7 Juno The Other Gray Wolf - ENFJ (Commander)

Juno is supposed to be Legosi's ideal mate. She's another wolf, she's perceptive of his subtler traits, and she's doing her best to bring carnivores and herbivores together. But, their personalities are pretty different. Juno shines in the public eye, even more so than Louis, who succeeds but only in a sort of professional capacity.

Juno has the ability to connect with anyone and make everyone feel comfortable around her. She's aspiring to greater things and has an open mind on what she wants versus what society wants. The only trait of hers that's a bit contradictory is her judging nature, where she likes things set in their place and has a tendency to make plans or do things in order.

6 Jack The Golden Retriever - ISFJ (Defender)

Jack is one of our favorite characters in Beastars, both in the anime and manga. He's shown off as this symbol of friendliness and extroversion, but his actual personality is actually quite reserved. This is why we think he feels so close to Legosi in the first place.

It's up to the viewer if Jack would be an extrovert or introvert, but personally, we feel he's just an introvert who pretends to be extroverted incredibly well. But, as the series goes on, Jack becomes more complex and complicated as a character. He never shines as anything more than a minor role, but we adore him so much anyway because he's quite literally just a very good pupper.

5 Gosha The Komodo Dragon - INFP (Mediator)

If we remember right, anime kids won't meet Gosha for quite a while. Gosha is a Komodo Dragon and is also Legosi's grandfather. We won't talk about the intricacies of their familial connection, but needless to say, the two are alike.

In fact, the only way they really differ is in the Intuition Vs Sensing department, and that's because Gosha is strong enough to ignore the problems in front of him and daydream of grander things or look at the bigger picture. Meanwhile, Legosi has to focus on every fact in front of him just to make it through the day. Gosha is a fascinating character, one we wish would show up more often because he's just such a sweet old man.

4 Gouhin The Giant Panda - INFP (Mediator)

Gouhin is another odd character. On the surface, he's a giant muscular Panda who quickly resorts to violence. But, once you get to know him, he's a softie idealistic bear who came up with a relatively pragmatic solution for his problems.

Panda's are built like a carnivore, but mentally are herbivores, and Gouhin follows that in his personality traits. He's gruff and rude but is a pragmatic, empathetic, and overall intelligent individual. His entire method for "curing" carnivores is one of the more interesting aspects in the show altogether.

3 Bill The Bengal Tiger - ESFP

Bill the Bengal Tiger is one of the more interestingly dynamic characters in the show. He doesn't show up enough to be considered part of the "main" cast like Legosi, Louis, or Haru. But, Bill is basically the second-command for the Cherrington Drama Club. He's loud, simplistic, incredibly friendly, and crafty.

But, unlike Legosi, Bill understands his carnivore tendencies and embraces them, that's not to say he's okay with committing murder, but he's absolutely familiar with the back alley market, that's for sure. Although, as the series goes on, his character keeps developing and eventually he might be more of an ENFP rather than an ESFP.

2 Pina The Dall Sheep - ENTP (Debater)

While Bill is proud of his carnivore status, Pina shows off his herbivore traits with style. Juno might shine in the spotlight, but Pina lives there. Cherrington as a school is enthralled by Louis' elegance and charm, and Louis begrudgingly accepts that. But, Pina is the type of person who doesn't just accept it, he relishes in it. So yes, he's an extrovert, but, Pina also lives dangerously.

He gets himself involved in others affairs at the drop of the hat. But, he's crafty, and most of his decisions are based on astute observations he's made about people over time. All these traits are textbook for someone with an ENTP Brigg's type.

1 Yafya The Horse - ENTJ (Commander)

Finally, we have Yafya, the current Beastar. Fans won't see him in the anime for quite a while but manga readers have been getting all too familiar with this equestrian idol lately. Obviously, he's an extrovert, as his entire climb to the top relies on how he thrives in the spotlight. And, a true Beastar can't succeed without having a clear image of the "big picture" so that takes care of the N for Intuitive.

Then, Yafya solves problems but never gets close to anyone, allowing him to make decisions impersonally and impartially, all in the pursuit of justice for both species of animals, making him the Thinking type. Lastly, the Beastar is meant to uphold and follow the rules of current society, so we can't exactly have someone of the Perceiving category as a star.
